Princeton had run up a string of 24 straight victories since losing to Cornell Oct. 22, 1949. But without the men like Dick Kazmaier who made that string possible, the Tiger offense sputtered and stalled when it got within scoring range Saturday.

George Boessler, the No. 1 magician of the amazng Penn defense, snatched Princeton passes out of the air and two of them were labeled touchdown. Ed Surmiak and Noel Schmidt each aaaaaaaa grabbed one and once Princeton fumbled away a scoring chance. But the defense so much if Varaitis, a hard- driving 205 fullback, pulverized the Princeton line aarly in the second quarter to give Penn the lead. Penn scored again, on a 46-yard pass from Walt Hynoski to Jack Moses and Princeton matched the score on a heave from Dick Unger to Frank McPhee, but that first touchdown was the ball game.
