Another Little Scrap. There was another little scrap up the street a few Mary Kennedy, manager cf Af mour Exhibit at the Trans-Mississippi Exposition at Omaha, writes the following of Pernna, as a euro that common phase of summer catarrh, known as indigestion. Miss Kennedy Bays: "I found the continual change of diet incidental to eight years' traveling completely upset rnydigestive system. In consulting several phy sic i a they decided I suffered with catarrh of the stomach. "Their pre-scriptiona did not seem to help mo any, so, reading ol tho remarkable cures effected by theuse ofPerunal decided, to try it and soon found myself well repaid.

"1 have now used Peruna for about three months and feel completely rejuvenated. I believe I am permanently cured, and do not hesitate to give unstinted praise to your great remedy, Peruna." The causes of summer catarrh ara first, chronic catarrh; second, derangements of the stomach and liver; third, impure blood. Such being the case anyone -who knows anything -whatever about (he operations of Peruna can understand why this remedy is a permanent cure for summer catarrh. It eradicates chronic catarrh from the system, invigorates the stomach and liver, cleanses the blood of all impurities, and therefore permanently cures by removing the cause, a host of maladies peculiar to hot weather. The cause being removed the symptoms disappear of themselves.

On Wednesday, May 1st, at 5 o'clock, p. Ben Harrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. T.

Harrell, died after a severe illness of seven weeks. He was 15 years old on the 15th day of January and was the prida and idol of the good household 6f. which he was a member. His first illness was typhoid pneumonia, was followed by rheumatism. This developed an abscess in the knee with which he suffered much.

Indeed his sufferings were great from the beginning. For tbe few days preceding his death he was greatly improving and his physician, with others, was quite hopeful. Two days before he died he wrote quite a nice letter to his sister, Mrs. Cohoon at Everetts. On the day of his death he ate a good breakfast and a good dinner and was feeling well and talked of getting up and walking.

In the afternoon he was sleeping, and seemed to awake suddenly, he gasp-edand was dtead in a moment. His mother, who had kept faithful watch by him after recovering from her own illness, was alone with him when he died. Seldom has there been shown such sympathy for a stricken The boy had been nigh unto death for weens, and just when they thought he was about to be restored he was taken, which made the Ehock all the more seyere. Thursday afternoon admidst a large concourse of friends and sympathizers the remains were laid to rest in the Baptiet cemetery, Rey. M.

L. Kesler conducting the services. Ben was a clever, and polite boy, well known and much liked by all the people of the town. His devotion to his mother and sisters was always beautiful. During his sickness he often pray ed and one time, a day or two before his, death sang "Jesus, lover of my soul." It is the consoling faith of the fond parents and those who knew him best that the Lord has taken the fresh young life to transplant It in his glorious kingdom of immortality beyond.

Letters of touching sympathy have come to Mr. and Mrs. Harrell from friends away, and they haye the sympathy of the entire community here. Town Convention. Baker. THE JUDGE'S CHARGE. Judge Bryan at once charged the grand jurf and emphasized their oathl that they were to do their duty regard less of consequences, seeking to plea.se nor displease any one. "In neither fear nor favor, without reward or thehope of reward," are the terms in which the grand jury's duty is -defined. udge Bryan's charge was full, touch ing the most important offenses against the critninal Jaw, and dwelling with emphasis on important features of cer- taia crimes.

He read pretty freely from notes, which showed that he had prepared his charge carefully. Judge Bryan is a young man and his term of office as Judge of this Criminal court district is short, he having been-appointed to fill out the term of Judge Moore who resigned ome time ago. This will be the last Criminal court held as by act of the Legis- ature this court will cease July 1st. Solicitor Daniel was ready for every case on the docket and his usual vigorous prosecution characterized his work this week. He is easily one of the best Solicitors in the State, and throughout his entire term of office thus far he has rendered the State most excellent service.

Judge Bryan made a good imp'res- sion. He is courteous to -all in court. which always causes people to like a Judge. Pleads for a Public S.quare. To the Editor of The Commonwealth Dear Sir I beg for space fn your yaluable paper to call attention to the public and the honorable board of town commissioners of the great need of a public square in our beautiful and growing town.

W6 have nothing of the kind no place to go to in the evening no place ior our children to go tnd get a whiff of air. Now, there is a square in East Scot land Neck directly opposite the depot. There is not a house on this plat of land and it can be had at a low cost to the town, and the cost of beautifying would be small. People passing to and from Scotland Neck could have a pleasant place to pass the time when waiting for trains. It would be an ad vertisement to our town and b3 au or nament that we all would be proud of.

Shall we let this chance pass to se cure this property? The voice of the people will No. Let's have it and at once. I hope the editor will look into this matter and give his personal attentim to then I feel sure we will get it. Citizen. Boys Who Are Away at school should have a sure remedy for sudden attacks of cramps, diarrhoea or.
