"Marvin Allen's long devotion to soccer and his dedicated service to the Carolina soccer program is appreciated not only by the University community, but also Dy people all over the state," UNC Athletic Director Bill Cobey said. As a soccer player at UNC he was an AU-ACC selection in 1971, 1972 and 1973. He was captain of the Tar Heel team his senior year. Since graduation, he has been a player and coach of the Chapel Hill Soccer Club, the current state champion.
