yVThe sound of tbe guns remind on- of thepatles that rSged on the Western Front last summer and fall The high price of meats may be the muss of so much hunting, much: it in violation of the statato" laws of the -State. In; Rtcb Square township and theN whole'-of Hertford County it is a violation of law, punishable by fine orim. prisonment, to hunt on the lands of another without first obtaining permission in writing of tbe owner of the land. There bas been so much hunting of late that squirrels have bad to seek food at night. During tbe moonlight nights of last week they were seen cutting hickories.

Some have been visiting' the hickory and oak trees that stand in a few feet of the Times office also the grove at Mr. R. Powell's and the trees on the Friends church lot, but none of these have been molested, but welcomed. Few years ago they frequently visited the grove where Mr. W.

E. Boone now lives, but tbe heavy barrage set up by hunters in the nearby woods probably prevent them coming up now. Ontland-Wright Mr. Floyd Outland and Miss Leanna Wright were married Tuesday night of last week at her home near Friends church or Eirfletown road, where they will livo for the present A lively, little crowd gathered to see them tied. Mr.

Outland is the son of Mr, and Mrs. E. P. Outlaud. He is a good looking returned soldier.

I don't know much about his qualities except his taste in selecting a wife, and here you would have to look a long time tu find a fellow to beat him. Mias Leanna is an orphan girl and I am told is one of the finest girl that has. lived in' the neighbor-hood. She wore a dress in which her aunt graduated 46 years ago, and which Miss Leanna wore when she graduated in 1915, and still it is lovely as a bouquet, and will still serve many more generations. Mr.

The Jint will grade better if allowed to remain in bulk a while after be-" ing picked from the fields, and this is a great consideration. The cotton crop is very short all over the cotton belt except in a few small districts and it should bring a much better price than is now offered for it.

Seed are also much lower than the price paid for them last season. With both seed and cotton much lower than last year ft seems nothing can be lost by not being in a hurry to have the cotton ginned. Be it remembered this paper is not offering advice. Ic is simply giving its opinion which may not in this case be worth anything. Will Remove To Raleigh.

Saving Hay. Many of our farmars have ived quite a lot of good soybean and crab grass hy during the fine weather of the past two weeks, and the work continues. The hay crop is not so good as usual, owing to the ravages of the clover worm and. lack of rain, sTtill much is being saved. Much of the land from which the hay Is cut will be put in wheat, oats and clover.
