A Lively Mnle. Our good friend Mr. James Gordon Hackett tells us of a very lively mule which visited the Hackett mills a few days since. It was just an old, plain, onery, innocent, sleepy, humble, tired looking critter, which made a fellow sympathize with rather tbanfear it. But it was a mule aud knew all the accom plishrnents of mules from Dan to Bersheba.

People sometimes forget that mules are mules, but mules never forget their own propensities and accomplishments. The miller began re moving the sack of corn without consulting the mule, mule. The mule took offence and beoran actire onerations. It kicked off the miller's hat Urn first pass and then played 4 rtt hofr'' with tlio cur It of corn till a dog came within the tentorial radius of the operations and the mule gently lifted the dog with both feet and made an airs hip of him till he lit in the middle of the river. The mule then wistfully around for new worlds to con quer, but "he was monarch of all he surveyed.
