From this standpoint prospects for crops -in- Rutherford county are. the poorest for many years, and this town is located in about the finest cotton section of the county.

Mr. Haywood, who is a skillful operator in the mill here, had stolen from his home a few days ago several dollars in money and some valuable notes. The papers and-part of the money have been recovered, and the sad fact brought to light in the trial is that two small boys, visitors to the house, are guilty of the theft. The interesting Presbyterian revival conducted by Rev. Mr.

of Rutherfordton, has closed with, hopeful results. Mr. Morrison and wife are some of our Mecklenburg elect. Mrr Gi R. Moore, who for a number of years has been one of the most popular and efficient officers in the Henrietta Mill, will in a short time move his family to their handsome new home in Shelby.
