Cubb, the J. A. White, a Contractor From Ft Scott, Would Take Them. J. A.

White, of Fort Scott, was here Wednesday consulting with the members of the council about the construction of the waterworks extension. He says parties visited Fort Scott after their bond election and made the same talk about the illegality of the bonds that Mr. King made here, but the bonds sold just the same. Mr. White is a builder not a bond broker but he says from his knowledge of such matters he would take the bonds, so far as the objec tions urged are concerned, and be glad to put in the system according to the plans and specifications.

We trust the council ill pay no attention to the rumors that are circulated against the validity ol the bonds. If there are any mistakes, the people si a- rt-ndy to correct them. This talk is for a purpose. The object is to create the impression that the bonds are of doubtful validity that they may fee purchased fpr less nipney than they are worth." We trust the council wlllstand pat." We have good bonds and we want a good price. John W.
