At the Rotary District Conference being held at Pinehurst, the Rotary-Anns which are wives of the Rotarians, were guests at a special luncheon Monday at noon at the Pinehurst Country Club. The luncheon was followed at two o'clock by a Fashion Show arranged by Mary Rice of Hamlet with models from Rockingham, Hamlet and Southern Pines. Miss Anne Parrish of Charlotte was the commentator for the Fashion Show. Spring and early summer clothes were shown. Models from Rockingham included: Mrs.

Olin Shedd, Mrs. Hamlet, Mrs. Ralph Garrison, Zack Long, Mrs. Harvey Johnson and Mrs. Norris France; from Mrs.

L. F. Ritter and Mrs. George Dawson. There were ten models from Southern Pines.

MRS. ED KENNEDY WAS HOSTESS TO BRIDGE CLUB The Thursday Night bridge blub was entertained by Mrs. Ed Kennedy last week, at her home on Ledbetter street. Mrs. Kennedy served her guests a delicious dessert course when they arrived.

Following the bridge game, guests enjoyed several Bingo games with Mrs. Webb, Mrs. Dockery, Mrs. Marks, Mrs. Tull and Mrs.

Scales winning prizes. The high score bridge prize went to Mrs. Settle Dockery and Mrs. Gordon Williams won consolation prize. Club members and guests playing were Mrs.

2, 1957. The First Baptist church was the scene of an impressive wedding Saturday afternoon when Miss Cynthia Ann Covington became the bride of James Hugh Wease of Lincolnton. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leonard Covington of Rockingham.

Mr. Wease is the son of and Mrs. C. C. Wease of Lincolnton.

The service took place at four o'clock. Rev. G. Carl Lewis, the bride's pastor, officiated, using the impressive double ring ceremony. Miss Frances Cartner, organist and James Pittman, soloist, rendered a program of wedding music.

Miss Cartner used "Dreams" by Wagner, "Nuptial Benediction" by Dubois, and "Prayer" by Ballman before the ceremony. During the ceremony she softly played "Clair de Lune" by Debussy. She used the traditional wedding marches. Mr. Pittman sang "Oh Perfect Love" by Barnby before the ceremony and Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer" as the benediction.

The church decorations consisted of floor baskets of white gladiola on each side of the pulpit desk. A seven-branched candelabra holding white tapers just back of the arrangements. The bridegroom graduated from Lincolnton High school in 1950 and graduated at Gardner Webb Junior College in 1955 and received his BS degree from East Carolina College, November 1956 with a major in political science. Since graduation he has been teaching at Caroline High School in Denton, Md. He served three years in the Air Force after his high school education. Among the out of town guests present for the wedding were Mr and Mrs. C.

CIRCLE MET WITH MRS. ARRIS Circle No. 5 of the First Methodist Church met on Tuesday night, February 5, with Mrs. J. L.

L. Tilley, present. The meeting was opened with the devotional by Mrs. L. B.

Eisenhart, using as her topic "Whom Shall I Send?" An interesting program on the subject "Those Who Serve" was presented by Mrs. R. E. Meach-am and Mrs. Benford Morse.
