The refuge consists of nearly 38,000 acres between Lake Havasu City, and Needles, Calif The concession operation consists of approxi- Theafpr mately 35 acres at Five-Mile Landing located on the west side of Topock Marsh near the refuges north end. The selected concessionaire will sup-, ply rental of canoes and motorized fishing boats, primitive campsites, full hook-up RV sites, utilities, a rescue boat, and a store selling basic necessities. This request for proposal is designed to improve visitor opportuni ties at the refuge.

The contract with the current concessionaire expires on July 31. Until a new concessionaire is selected the refuge will assume responsibilities for providing services currently provided by the existing concessionaire.
