Ulysses-Garrison batters The 11 hits for the winners second and third portions respectively The top four drivers in mini-junior racing were Ryan Knapp of Plattsmouth Chris Allensworth of Carson Iowa Bobby McCall of Council Bluffs Iowa and Cliff Thingstad of Shelby Dan Dammann of Clarinda Iowa won the 250 class followed by Frank Levonroth of Glenwood Iowa and Peg Magee of Kearney Dave Weak won the over 25 years old class with John Graybill and Mike Daly of Omaha trailing him Dammann won his second race of the day in the Enduro class followed by Scott Pope of Council Bluffs Iowa and John Schoenaver of Norfolk In the two-stroke Quad race class Kevin of Council Bluffs Iowa was first with Jeff Banhart of Omaha and Steve Erb of Norfolk trailing Tim Rodehorst of Columbus won the four-stroke Quad class by finishing ahead of Jeff Gigstad and Steve Grubaugh both of Columbus The third motocross racing session of the season here is scheduled for Sunday Sept 13 69 entrants compete for motocross honors Sunday were divided thus: Tim Shipley three Bill Helgoth and Gordy Rpbin-son two each Bill Daro Russ Daro Larry Hoeft and Larry Timoney one each In the fourth game of the tournament for Ulysses-Garrison West Point Vonnies was the 6-5 victim of the team The West Point pitcher struck out two and walked nine Karpisek struck out five Vonnies batters He gave up seven hits The seven hits for the winners were credited to: Tim Shipley and Gordon Robinson two each Bill Helgoth Bryan Kratochvil and Russ Daro one each North Bend Grain shut out Ulysses-Garrison 3-0 as the Shipley 15 slugging percent Pam Mashek 693 and most valuable Denise Demuth 41 participate in Fun Run Forty-one runners and walkers took part Saturday morning in the Butler County American Cancer Society Fun Run Dale Nielsen and Joyce Bell were the overall men and women winners of the 10-kilometer race with times of 37:26 and 59:22 respectively Shawn Robins was the two-mile run overall winner He turned in a time of 10:00 Kelly Lant won the division in 14:40 In the female division Renee Birkel was first in the 19 and under division of the two-mile run Karla Schmit was second followed by Lisa Ostermeier and Jill Schmit In the 30-39 division Kathie Zeilinger Hackney was first in the two-mile run with a time of 19:03 Mary Svoboda was first in the 50 and over 10K run division In the half Jerr Swanda was first in the 19 and under 10K division Mike Liebig won the 20-29 two-mile run division in 10:02 John Wood was second to Nielsen in the 10K run with a time of 37:38 and Mike McClintic was third in 47:25 Mark Weber won the 30-39 10K division with a time of 39:05 Dan Daly was second in 45:03 and Dave Struebing was third in 45:14 Bill Birkel won the two-mile run in 12:45 and Ray Metzner was second in 13 42 Jim Robins won the 40-49 division of the 10K run in 54:52 and David Birkel won the two-mile run in 18:19 Robert Bell won the 10K 50 and over division in 44:20 DALE NIELSEN KATHIE ZEILINGER HACKNEY MARY SVOBODA JOYCE BELL KELLY LANT ROBERT BELL Sixty-nine entrants tried to tame the jump-filled track at the Butler County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon when the second session of motocross races of the 'season was held The track was slightly muddy when the practice session began but by the time it was over the track was in perfect riding condition officials noted In 250 Expert action Mike Boston of Crete came away with the win followed by Steve Murray and Steve Hytrek both of Omaha Only three riders signed up in the 125 expert class with Boston taking the win icllowed by Dave Weak of Omaha and John Graybill of Council Bluffs la Hytrek won the hotly-contested open class race over a hard-charging Jay Knapp of Plattsmouth Doug Nicolas of Essex Iowa was third The 125 class attracted the largest class of riders for the day with 21 competing Kevin Worl of Roseland Park Kans nailed down first with Dave Hinkley of Omaha and Jeff Stotts of Omaha in the two-mile
