Action Resumes By VIRGIL PARKER Prep Sports Writer After a three-week layoff, high school basketball in the Capital City resumes this weekend with three games on the local state. Each of the five Lincoln clubs has a pair of contests scheduled. Only the Pius quintet of coach Don Kelley has been in action since mid-December. The Thunderbolts were runner- up to host Waverly in a holiday hoop affair. Coach Wally Southeast club will be the only team to stay in the city all weekend.

The Knights tangle with crosstown rivals Lincoln High and Pius at Pershing Auditorium, meeting the Links Friday and the Saturday night. Southeast will be the first team to play each of the other Capital City teams. The Knights opened the season with narrow five and three-point losses to East and Northeast before bounding back with victories over Fremont and North Platte to even their record at 22. Coach Aldy Lincoln High cagers, 1-3 so far, were edged by Omaha Westside by three points and Northeast by just a pair in two of those defeats. The Links hold a convincing nine-point triumph over East for their only victory, while East (3-1) boasts the best record of any Lincoln team.

Coach Paul East quintet is on the road for both of its weekend games, traveling to Kearney Friday night and to Omaha for a game with Tech on Saturday. Defending state champion Northeast after an opening- season loss at Kearney has bounced back with wins over Southeast and Lincoln High. Coach Ed club resumes play at Hastings day night, then entertains Omaha Benson at the East High gym Saturday evening. Two other games on tap this weekend are on the road. Pius 3-2 on the season, goes to Lexington Friday before its date with Southeast, while Lincoln High jo'ms East in Omaha Saturday night.
