Mrs. Martha Trussell Dies Saturday At 90 Mrs. Martha Adaline Trussell, 90, former resident of 211 E. 4th died at 6 a.m. Saturday in Hie Sharp Convalescent Home in PleasantvHIe following an extended illness.

She was born February 29, 1874, in Tionesta, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Saufsgiver. She lived 1 in this area most of her She was united in marriage to Daniel Curtis Rhodes in 1894 and he preceded her in death in 1943. Tn 1945, she married John Trussell.

He died in 1947. Mrs. Trussell is survived by four daughters and one son: Mrs. Esther J. Hutchinson of Oil City; Mrs.

Herbert (Floi encc) Wininger: of Medfon Mrs. Neal (Edith) Shott of Tampa, Mrs- Albei (Leona) Rossi of Youngstown and Archie Rhodes of Hoi Mich. Also surviving are a sis fer Mrs. Pearl Matie of Tid ioute; 36 grairichiklren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Friends will be received an time in the Hutehinson and Moi ton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be hel at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funer al home with Rev. D. N. Thorn as, pastor of the Pleaeantvill Free Methodist Church, officiat ing.

Interment will be in th Jamison Corners Cemetery. R. J. Rossman, Musician, City Employe, Succumbs Raymond J. Rossman, 61, of 324 Halyday Run Road, an em- ploye in the engineering department of the City of Oil City for the past 35 years, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday morning.

Mr. Rossman, who-had a heart ailment, had worked He was.born in the Halyday Run Road community August 10, 1902, a son of the late William H. and Martha Johnson Rossman, and had lived in that community his entire life. Mr. Rossiman was well known as a musician, appearing with orchestras in this area and as a member of the American Legion Band.

He formerly was director of the Franklin Band and the VFW Band in Oil Csly. He was a life member of the Musicians Union. Mr. Rossman attended the Lamey Evangelical United Brethren Ha was a member of the Oil City Elks Club. He is by a sister, Mrs.

Geraldine Oartwright Halyday Run Road, Oil City; a uncle, Louis Rossman in Cal fornia, and several nieces an nephews. Johnston, 68, of Pleasantville IID 2 died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Titusville Hospital. Mr. Johnston has been employed as an engineer for Strulh- ers-Wells Corporation in Titus ville for 20 years. Born September 17, 1895, at Warners, N.Y., he was a son of Edward and Leah Snyder Johnston.

He was reared in Franklin. Mr. Johnston was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pleasantville. He also was a member of Adomiram Lodge. F.

A.M., Akron, Ohio, and the Cleo J. Ross Post of the American Legion in Titusville. A World War I veteran. Mr. Johnston enlisted in the U.

S. Army December 11, 1917, at Columbus Barracks, Ohio, and served as a private in the 355th Aero Squadron. He was discharged December 31, 1918, in Rochester, N.Y. He is survived by his widow, the former Viola Watson; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Veanne) Whitall.of Madera, Mrs.

William (Jeannine) Caldwell and Mrs. Warren (Sally) Frey of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Michel (Rofine) Nasr of Tripoli, Lebanon, and Mrs. Edward (Nancy) McFarlane of Indiana; Eight grandchildren, several nieces and and a brother, Frank W. Johnston of Sarasota, Fla.

A sister is de ceased. Friends will be received at the Raymond W. Arnold Funeral Home in Titusville from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

He was born May 7, 1891 in Porter Township, Clarion Coun ty, son of Harmon and Margaret Lilly Hepler.

He never married. Survivors include two brothers, Webster Hepler of Timblin and Herbert Hepler of East Brady; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Nora) Cathcart of Fairmount City RD 1, Mrs. Phoebe Bowser of Fairmount City RD 1, Mrs. Goldie Phillips of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad until his retirement eight years ago. He was a member of the Brolher- lood of Railroad Signalmen of America. Removal was made to the IHarles D. Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn where friends may call anytime.

Servicemen Clarion Man Receives Air Force Commission SA'N ANTONIO, Tex. -Harry K. Callen, son of Mr. and Mrs. K- D.

Callen of 118 Sixth Clarion, has Been commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation from Officer Training School (OTS) at Lackland AFB, Tex. Lieutenant Callen was selected for OTS through competitive examinations with oilier college graduates. He has been chosen for training and duty as a weather officer and will be assigned to one of the more than 250 Air Force installations world-wide where combat and support units.are based. The lieutenant, a graduate of Clarion Joint High School, received his B.S.

degree from Clarion College. FORT GULICK, Canal Zone- Army Specialist Four James A. Dehner, 22, whose wife, Helen, lives at 911 E. Second Oil City, was assigned to Company Bin Special Forces Group, 1st Special Forces at Fort Gulick, Canal Zone, May 26. Special Forces were created by the Department of the Army to provide, in time of war, a unit which the Army can develop and employ guerrilla warfare forces against the enemy in support of military oprations- Dehner is a medical aidman in the company.

He entered the Army 'in August 1963 and received basic traning at Fort Gordon, Ga. Delmer was last stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn A.

CALLEN Mrs- Samuel H. Tidd, 1418 Eagle Franklin, completed basic training recently at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, 111. The nine-week training includes naval orientation, history and organization, seamanship, ordnance and. gunnery, military drill, first aid and survival. During the training recruits receive tests and interviews which determine their future assignments the Navy.

Upon completing "the program they are assigned to service schools for training or to ships and stations for on-the-job train, ing in a Navy, rating specialty. Naval training produces the power in seapower by supplying qualified personnel to man the ships, planes and shore stations of today's Navy. 3D ARMORED Germany Boyd E. Croyle, 21, son of M. and Mrs.

William' B. H. Croyle, Roiife 3, Franklin, was promoted lo specialist five, May 25, in Germany where he is serving with the 3d Armored Division-' Specialist Croyle, a radio repairman in Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion of the division's 36lh Infantry near Kirch Gons, entered the Army in March 1962 and arrived overseas the following December. Croyle was graduated from Frank'liin High School in 1961. Mrs.

Whitling Dies Saturday At Granclview Mrs. Alice L. Whitling, 66, of HOVi Bissell a nurse's aide at the Oil City Hospital for the past 10 years and a member of he Licensed Practical Nurses Association, Venango Division, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday in the Grandview Convalescent Home following an extended illness. She was the widow of James W.

Whitling, who died in October 194,5. She was born February 16 198, in Curllsville, a daughter of William II. and Anna Benn lamm. Mrs. Whitling was a member of the Fertigs Methodist Church Surviving are a son, Harry George of Macon, four daughters, Mrs.

Lloyd (Florence) Marsh of Ellwood City, Mrs. Guy (Jane) Baker of Ingle ivood, Mrs. Norman Ruth) Ta'rr of Oil City and Miss Joanne Whitling of Nyack, N.Y.; a brother, Frank Hamm of Eau alle, three sisters, Mrs tfabel Johnson of Rimersburg Mrs. Faye C. Jones of Ford City and Mrs.

Martha Gilmore Bethlehem. Also surviving are five step sons, Willis and Norman Whit ing of Seneca, Merrill Whitling of Oil City, Harold Whitling Rockland and Walter Whitling of Knox RD; three step-daugh ters, Mrs. Laddie (Esther) Nee of Warren, Mrs. William (Helen; O'Neil of Seneca and Mrs. Chcs (Hazel) Whitmer of Mead ville, and 38 grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Charles A. Morrison Funera any time until noon Tues day, when removal will be made the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she wil ie in slate until the funera service at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Donald Miles, pastor the church, will officiate.

Inter ment will be in the Brandon Cemetery. Mrs. Brutsche Dies At 86 In Rouseville Mrs. Hettie I. Brutsche, 86 of 11 Locust Rouseville, diec at 2 a.m.

Sunday at her resi dence. She was the widow George Brulsche. Born in Knox March 28, 1878, she was a daughter of Cyrus M. and Phoebe Jean Carney Kelley. Mrs.

Brutsche was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Her husband died in 1929. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles G. (May) Kulling of Rouseville; a sister, Mrs.

Willis J. Estep of louseville; a grandson, George C. Kulling, Rouseville, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call after 2 p.m. at the Charles A.

Lowers, Age 85, Dies In Brookville SHIPPENVILLE Mrs. Re gina B. Lowers, 85, of Shippen ville, widow of Richard Lowers died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday in Hi Brookville Hospital following a short illness. Mrs.

Lowers was born Sep tember 27,1878, in Clarion Cour ty, a daughter of Jacob an Barbara Shattenberg Betz. Mr. Lowers died in 1928. She was a member of th Emanuel Lutheran Church Shippenville. Surviving are a son, Harry Lowers of Shippenville; a granc son, Harry Dean Lowers, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Banta was a retired farmer, a member of the Titusville Methodist Church, and a member of Troy Center Grange 'or over 50 years. He is survived by his widow and eight children: Mrs. Leonard (Mary) Bidwell, Centerville; Mrs. Eugene (Joanna) Iver, Spartansburg; Mrs.

Moon Dies At 75 Mrs. Matilda Rose Moon, 75, of 39 Cherry Alley, wife of Samuel 0. Moon, died at 12:30 Saturday in the Oil City iospital following a year's illness. She was born October 10,1888, at Venus, a daughter of John I. and Mary Jane Confer Smith.

She had lived in Oil City for 55 years. She and Mr. Moon were married July 15, 1908. He survives. Surviving also are a son, Merle A.

Dies Saturday CLARION Ray Lynn Burns Jr died Saturday, in Fort Dix, N.J. He was born January 1, 1964, the son of Ray L. Burns and Lillian Bradmore. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Edwin of Clarion and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Bradmore. The body was taken to the residence of Harry Kirkwood, 78 Seventh Clarion. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the residence.
