PACE IA THE DAILY ITEM SUMTER ML THURSDAY AUGUST 1979 Obituaries Murder Victims Still Unknown MRS IDA WALLACE Mrs Ida May Hood Wallace 79 widow of Barney Wallace and a former employe of Sunshine Cleaners and Laundry died Wednesday at the Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia after a long illness She was bom in Kershaw County a daughter of the late WJ and Argent Brown Dees She was a member of the First Baptist Church and its Philathea Sunday school class 3 the Woman's Missionary Union and the Senior Citizens Fellowship Surviving are a daughter-in-law Mrs Ruby Hood of Columbia a grandson Barney Hood of Joliett III a great-granddaughter Mist Dorothy Hood of Columbia and several neices and nephews of Sumter Services will be 4 pm Friday at the Lindsay Chapel of the First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev Mike Hamlet Burial will be in the Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens Talbert-Shives Funeral Home is in charge The woman was about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed about 100 pounds She was wearing cut-off jeans a pink halter top a white blouse and wedge sandals with a hot pink and purple instep strap She also wore three rings all sterling silver believed to be either Mexican or Indian costume jewelry One ring was jade with a black setting one was a feather ring with a jade insert and the third had a red white and blue setting XHEY WERE FOUND EARLY Monday morning on a dirt road known as the Locklair Road between 1-95 and SC 341 about 25 miles east of Sumter They both died of multiple gunshot wounds believed to be fired from either a 38 caliber or 357 magnum pistol Fingerprints sent to the FBI in hopes that their files may contain identification have not as yet reached Washington An all-points bulletin containing the description! intersection of West Liberty Street and Guignard Drive Reports said Smith was eastbound on West Liberty Street when she ran through a red light in her 1970 Plymouth and into the path of a 1972 efficiency plan need for costly and hazardous strike action was avoided by the arbitration James Rademacher president of the National Association of Letter Carriers said Wednesday The Postal Service also claimed victory in the arbitration citing issues on which arbitrator Sylvester Garrett ruled in its favor "This is a very important and crucial occurrence for the Postal a spokesman said "We plan
