declared no way to justify it I think if I had to make a choice it would be Wilbur Mills and then a liberal but got his feet on the ground "Apparently going to be a sad day if McGovern wins I do think the National Democratic Party has become a dictatorship trying to tell the local parties who they can and send to the Sumter MAYOR ROBERT GRAHAM know whether or not he could support McGovern if he is the nominee kind of hard to say at this time always stayed with the Democratic Party put it that way The man I would like to see get it have a chance---Jackson It looks like McGovern will get it on the first ballot but if he get it on the first two he EDWARD ERVIN chairman of the Sumter County Democratic Party had this to say "About the only ones I would support are running way in the background I even think be a factor Ervin says it looks like McGovern will win but he know if he can support him until he looks at the party platform AYCOCK a veteran at the State House and chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee think going to be the biggest mess ever see going to a knock-down drag-out before over with And if McGovern gets the nomination I think have to start over with another Democratic Aycock defiantly declared he could "absolutely support McGovern always been for Scoop Jackson myself but I think he has a chance my type of CREECH former Sumter mayor and long-time executive committeeman of the local Democratic Party also said he could not support McGovern looks like going to be nominated but you know until the first he said "I got a candidate but I think if I leaned any way Jackson would be my man a man of Creech has been to one national convention but he says no pleasure in today "A convention is pretty hard and you learn all you want to know after one
