She warned, "When using a. figurine, be not to use too large-or "overwhelming" flowers to compete with the center of interest and be considerate of the setting in which the composition will be placed. She reminded her audience not to put a madonna in a vase where her "feet will get wet." The door decorations shown were many and varied. Double doors were shown with twin wreaths or complimentary decorations, such as the word "seasons" on the left door and "greetings" on the right door with wreaths below the words. A particularly attractive door decoration was a little girl made of stuffed legs and real clothes holding a bunch of her feet were musical notes.

The fam- ilar streamer decoration of "Noel" in red stuffed oil cloth letters hung vertically was shown along with green wreaths with artificial fruit Some of the most refreshing and clever decorations were shown for the back door and door. Mrs. Musick had made several loops of rope centered with a cow bell and tied with a bright. red bow for her back door. A green hose coiled and.tied with a Christmas bow and sprig of hollywas a- garage door suggestion.

The entrance' hail decorations that were most impressive were of candle and-Bible arrangements with variations as to accessories. Gold, silver and white were predominate colors in home decorations -with the orential theme ex-: pressed "in for. the modern home. Driftwood was 'the 'center of interest or the base for some of the most attractive arrangements, with madonnas and candelabra figuring in a close second for popularity. Pink is another comparatively new Christmas color.

The completely pink Christmas tree was shown decorated with seed pearls Baprist Circles Study 23rd Psalm At meetings Tuesday, Memorial Baptist circles were reminded of the Associational Woman's Missionary union meeting to meet next Tuesday at Highlands First Bible'studies'on "The Lord My Shepherd," were led for Membership Drive Enlisting new members is the October project of the Irene circle, members were told Tuesday morning- at a meeting in the home of Mrs. R. Texas Avenue "In making mantle compositions," explained Mrs. Musick, "if a picture hangs above the mantle, the idea is to tie in the colors of the arrangement with the predominate color of the picture." Mantle arrangements got much attention. They varied from thc stately to the humcrous.

One formal arrangement was a setting of two gold candelabra on each side of Uie maiitle decorated with gold foliage holding white twisted can, dies. Centered on the mantle was a white medonna surrounded by a gilded -composition of dried branches and leaves. Another fireplace had a saucy Santa Clause made from wood shavings, using the curled shavings for a beard, hung above the opening. Still another one was decorated with Christmas bells, balls and satin ribbon on the fireplace logs. Christmas trees will be different this year.

One green tree was decorated with glittered dried bean hulls and dried slices of onion. Another tree was made with white cedar on a wire form small enough for a table and decorated with painted boiled eggs. A smaller free decorated with painted eggs was used as the centerpiece for a table serving egg nog. There were many pop corn trees for table decors, some including candy sticks for color, and several types of candy trees. Some were made from different colored candy canes.

One was a lollipop tree, with lollipops stuck through individual white papef doilies in a fat tree shape for the coffee table. One particularly delectable table decor was a wagon carrying a pop corn Santa led by two peppermint stick reindeer with doughnuts around their legs and antlers. For a table composition that was cxpecially striking a piece of beautifully shaped gilded driftwood limb was placed in the center of gilded Christmas balls. Small accents of fushia pink were used in the tree. Another favorite was a driftwood arrangement of natural wood with red love apples on the twisted limbs and an arrangement of yellow crysanthemums at the base and partially up the side of the wood.

Three gilded angels stood nearby. An inside brick wall decoration, suggestion was ofSnnta and rleigb. cut from felt and angel hair. An idea for Christmas card display wos a toy mail box surrounded by cards and topped with a Santa Claua figure. A spray of berries and pir.o came from inside thc box.

A serving table centerpiece that was different was candle holder and a candle with an arrangement of paraffin coated leaves and vegetables, including grapes and turnips. Mrs. Musick explained that thc paraffin can be colored with food coloring or wax crayon if desired. Several table cloths for the season were shown, including an aqua cloth decorated with white felt figures. Blending with n.

silver tea service was a silver candelabra and white candle with an arrangement of white felt leaves and silver balls on a white tabel cloth, Mrs. Musick, who has been the house guest of Mrs. F. C.
