The dead and injured most of whom are residents of this section of the coun try were brought here The cause of the accident could not he learned but it was repotted that a mis understanding of orders was responsible Two Women and Man Tell Judge Their Marital Woes and Are reed rom When Ola Skinner refused to crate two bulldog pups and carry them a dis tance of about one mile to the railroad for shipment at the request of her hus band Everett Skinner she told Judge Pliny Bartholomew of the Superior Court Room 5 yesterday he threw his cup and saucer at her head At another time they both attempted to get posses sion of the same broom at the same moment and during the scuffle Mrs Skinner says she was hit on the end of the nose Other similar acts were re lated by Mrs Skinner in telling of her domestic woes At the end of the hear ing Judge Bartholomew granted her a divorce Lewis Hardin a preacher since he was 17 years old allowed his wife Eva Hardin to threaten him and stopped hot frying pans with his face for some time he told Judge Bartholomew when relating why he should be granted a di vorce He said his wife threatened to kill him and at another time when he asked her if something on the stove was not burning she slapped him with the smoky and hot Bide of the frying pan His face was severely burned he said Judge Bartholomew allowed him to leave the courtroom a free man Morris Worley whose wife Lula Worley sued him for divorce was able to show good reason for not appearing in answer to a summons when brought into the courtroom by an officer yester day afternoon In the morning when the case was called and Worley was not present Judge Bartholomew ordered him brought In by an officer Worley was found at the Workhouse and explained that his entreaties that he be allowed to go to court did not obtain his release He was allowed to accompany the of ficer His wife was given a divorce That the railroads of th6 United Stated are behind their equipment needs and delaying defi nite Ordering until later in the growing season but in at least a few Important instances there is a disposition to go lahead on the present outlook for the crops If there is to be a heavy equip ment buying movement in anticipation of crops it probably will develop within thenext few days or the last two years the freight car rproduction scarcely has been equal to the estimated average annual destruction of carsy During that time retirement of cars as well as production has been under the average A vast part of the equipment of the railroads of the country has been in con stant use and a larger part of it is ready for the scrap heap than was the case or five years ago Cars ruined rapidly The annual death roll of freight cars In the United Stales is declared to be above the 100000 mark In 1910 the production of freight cars was 180000 including a few thousand for export This production added substantially to the country's car equipment but scarcely more than enough to make up for the of the previous two years during which the construction of cars ag gregated 95000 and 75000 respectively Thus the average annual production for the years 1908 1909 and 1910 only was about 116000 little more than enough to good the destruction and deprecia tion to say nothing of equipping some 4000 miles a year of wholly new line and taking care of the expanding volume of railroad
