Lura Jean Barnes Moore passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020, after 83 years as a wife, mom, and Nana to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a life- long resident of Archer Lodge and lived in the family home- place, where she took her and last breath. Jean was born on July 5, 1936, the last surviving child of Joshua Otis Barnes and Mary Cleo Thompson Barnes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Nellie Reece Mulhol- lem, Bertha Castleberry, Larue Bridges, Charles Barnes, and her twin sister Laura Barnes, as well as her son-in-law Dell Edwards. She leaves behind a grateful and blessed family, including her husband, Glenn, whom she was married to for 63 years. She and Glenn were high school sweethearts, graduat- ing together from Corinth Holders High School in 1954. Theywere blessedwith three children, Dara M. Edwards of Wendell, Lisa M.

Barnes and her husband, Jeff, of Archer Lodge, and Jon Moore, and his wife, Kendall, of Durham. Another great joy of her life was the time she spent with her six grandchildren, Hunter Barnes (Kim), Tucker Barnes (Paige), Will Edwards (Cath- erine), Ally Edwards, Nathan Moore, and Alyssa Moore, as well as the newest members of her family, her precious great- grandchildren, Jackson and Clara Barnes, and soon to ar- rive Tripp Barnes. Jean was also blessed with a wonderful musical talent and will be remembered for her many years of dedication to White Oak Baptist music ministry, serving as pia- nist and organist for more than 30 years. In lieu of the fam- ily suggests memorial gifts be made to White Oak Baptist Designated Music Fund, 13943 Buffalo Road, Ar- cher Lodge, NC 27527. The family would like to thank Helen Benson, her care- giver, as well as Griswold Home Care (Julie, Margie, Debra, and Victoria), and Tran- sitions Life Care (Suzanne).

A celebration of life will take place at White Oak Baptist Church graveside. The service will be held on Friday morning, June 19, 2020, at Livestream on www.face- book.com/stricklandfuneral. www.stricklandfu- neral.com Lura Jean Barnes Moore JULY 5, 1936 JUNE 15, 2020 ARCHER LODGE YOUNGSVILLE, NC She was a graduate of Wake- High School class of 2003, Vance Granville Community College and Fort Hays State University. Laura married Russell Green III in 2016 who died on the same day. They are survived by one son Maxwell Green of Mount Holly and predeceased by there daugh- ter Allie Joy in 2019. She is also survived by her parents Gregory and Burneta Barley of Mount Holly NC, sister Jessica Meyer of Greensboro, brothers Jonathan Barley of MT Holly and Matthew Barley( Ornellie Sullivan) Raleigh. Nieces and Nephews Rylee and Xander Meyer.

Funeral services will be held at Covenant Hope Church in Wake Forest NC on Internment will be in Oak- wood Cemetery. GoFundMe Ornellie Barley) Laura Barley NOVEMBER 27, 1985 JUNE 12, 2020 LILLINGTON Henry Randolph (Randy) Currin, Jr. went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, June 11, 2020. He was born in Durham, NC, to Randolph Currin, and Lillian Lee Will- ingham Currin.

Randy attended Hope Valley a and C. E. Jor- dan High, and graduated from Phillips Acad- emy in Ando- ver, MA, in 1968. He returned to Durham, graduating from Duke University with a BSEE, and worked as an engineer for Duke Power Company. He enrolled at Carnegie-Mellon Tepper School in Pittsburgh, PA, and met his future wife, Sandra (Sandy) Shoaf in Durham.

The sum- mer of 1974, he and Sandy were married, and they moved to Rome, Georgia, for summer internship with Klop- man Mills. They relocated to Pittsburgh, where he graduat- ed from the business school in 1975. Randy went to work for the NC Utilities Commission Public Staff in Raleigh, provid- ing expert testimony in many utility rate hearings. Eventu- ally, his entrepreneurial side emerged, and he left the Staff to work with the Raleigh Booth and Associates, later building and selling several companies including Currin and Associates, Capital Data Systems, and Ameri- can Tactical Systems. In 1986, he and Sandymoved to Lillington, NC, and in 1990, helped establish Crossroads Church of Lillington.

He was chosen as an elder in their leadership and was dedicated to the nurture of that local body of Christ, happily spend- ing many hours on its behalf. In 2001, Randy was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leu- kemia. He was treated at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center for 8 months.

He truly beat the odds with their help, and with many prayer warriors back home. After a highly experimen- tal cord blood transplant, he gained complete remission, in which he remained the rest of his life. In 2003, he started yet another career as a advisor with Ed- ward Jones, and quickly found he had a knack for seeing new, successful ways to help his cli- ents prepare for retirement. In 2007, he left the Edward Jones umbrella to ally with LPL Finan- cial, creating Wealth Management, in Angier, NC, continuing to provide re- tirement planning advice for many clients. He en- joyed playing golf, traveling, spy novels, cameras, and try- ing new technology.

In his col- lege days, he raced cars on the IMSA circuit, including Mid- Ohio and Daytona. In 2010, Randy had 5-way bypass sur- gery for radiation damage from 2001 and had a stroke during surgery. He spent the rest of his years working hard to over- come those physical setbacks. He retired from his business in 2012. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandy, of Lillington; son, David and wife Dawn of Falls Church, VA; mother, Lillian Currin of Pinehurst, NC; sister, Carol Stanley and husband Tony of Goldsboro, NC; aunt, Mary Willingham; nieces, Julie Stan- ley Moesch and Mandy Shoaf Morrison; nephews, Scott Stanley and Wesley Shoaf and all their families, and several cousins with families in the Atlanta area and near Durham, NC.

Memorial service will be Saturday, June 20, at at Crossroads Church in Lilling- ton, with private burial in Ma- plewood Cemetery in Durham. Online condolenc- es at www.oppfh.com Henry Randolph (Randy) Currin, Jr. APRIL 13, 1950 JUNE 11, 2020 Dorothy Duncan Banks passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020 at the precious age of 95. She was preceded by her husband, Sam Paul Banks. Dorothy was born and raised in Gravette, Arkansas by her late parents, Harvey and Stella Duncan. She is survived by her sister, Norma, and her brother, John.

Sam and Dorothy were mar- ried upon return from World War II. After living in Arkansas, Missouri and Char- lotte, they settled in Raleigh in 1968 where they raised their four children, Pat, Mark, San- dra and Brad and were faithful members of St Christian Church. Dorothy has 4 grandchil- dren; Eric, Philip, Stephanie and Zachary, along with 6 great grandchildren; Chase, Trevor, Aliyah, Caroline, Pey- ton and Daniel. Dorothy was kind and patient and nothing gave her more joy than taking care of her family. Her happi- est moments were when she was surrounded by her family.

Dorothy had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and it was evident to all who knew her. Always positive and full of compassion, she saw the best in everyone and was the perfect example of the Proverbs 31 and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to An outdoor celebration of life is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, at St. Christian Church in Raleigh. BrownWynneEastMillbrook. com Dorothy Duncan Banks JULY 31, 1924 JUNE 11, 2020 RALEIGH John Howard Matthews, 87, of Cary, passed away peace- fully at UNC Rex Hospital on June 16, 2020. He was born February 6, 1933 in Cary to the late Lloyd and Lovie Mat- thews. Howard was a Navy veteran and retired from Southern Bell with 30 years of service. He was a member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church.

Howard was an avid loved the outdoors, and reading Westerns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eleanor Jacobs, James Matthews and Helen Cope. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Dot) Matthews; daughter, Sandy Matthews or Ayden, NC; sis- ter-in-law, Peggy Brown; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Fu- neral Home in Cary from 1-2pm Saturday, June 20th. A graveside service will follow at at Hillcrest Cemetery in Cary.

A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late William Layton Prince and Pauline Hilliard Prince.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 2:45 PM at the church. A private burial will follow. Bobby Prince JANUARY 22, 1948 JUNE 15, 2020 FUQUAY-VARINA CARY Gresham Lee Yeager, DDS, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020. He was born on November 17th, 1930 in Princ- eton, Indiana to Mabel Nos- sett Yeager and Walter Yeager. He graduated from Francisco High School in Francisco, Indi- ana and Indiana State University where he ma- jored in music. He served in the U.S.Army and then went on to get his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska. His practice was in Tampa, Florida.

He then served as a medical mis- sionary in Kenya, Africa for three years before becoming a founding partner in the St. Petersburg (Florida) Dental Center where he practiced until 1998. Each year for years he made short medical missionary trips to Belize. In 1999 he and his wife Anne moved to Fearrington Vil- lage (Pittsboro), North Caro- lina where he became a Master Gardener with his gardens on the Garden Tour for several years. He served as President of the Garden Club and the Homeowners Association in Fearrington Vil- lage.

In 2014 he and his wife moved to Gle- naire in Cary, North Carolina. He is sur- vived by his beloved wife and caretaker, Anne. He is also survived by children Jonathan, Mat- thew, Paul, Sar- ah and Steven and their respec- tive families) from his previous marriage which ended in the death of his wife. Anne wishes to thank all his wonderful caregivers and supportive friends during his recent illness. Due to the virus a memorial service will be delayed until later.

Gresham Lee Yeager NOVEMBER 17, 1930 JUNE 17, 2020 GASTON, NC Gaston- Willie Seth Pearce, 79, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at WakeMed. He was a Youngsville, NC native born to the late Willie S. Pearce and Eunice Holmes Pearce. Billy was also preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Pearce Harp- er.

Billy found immense joy in time spent with family and friends. He treasured the time together dearly and always strived to foster connections. He was a retired indepen- dent Insurance Adjuster and was a member of the Littleton Baptist Church and the Little- ton Club. Revs. Mike O.

Currin and David Little will conduct graveside services at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 20th at the Youngsville Cemetery. Mr. Pearce is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne Pollard Pearce; his daughter, Carmen Pearce Adams and husband, Michael; and his grandchil- dren, McRae Alexander Ad- ams and Maris Jamison Ad- ams.
