I TIMES-DEMOCRAT, LIMA, OHIO, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 1907. SEVEN. Operations Avoided Hospitals in our great cities are sad places to visit. Three-fourths of the patients lying on those snow white beds are women and girls. Why should this be the case? Because they have neglected themselves.

Every one of these patients had plenty of warning in those dragging sensations, pain at the left or right of side, nervous exhaustion, pain in the small of the back; all of which are indications of an unhealthy condition. Do not drag along at home or in your place of employment until you are obliged to go to the hospital and submit to an examination and possible operation. Build up the feminine system, remove the derangements which have signified themselves by danger signals, and remember that Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, made from native roots and herbs, has saved many women from the hospital. Read the letters here published with the full consent of the writers, and see how they escaped operations by a faithful reliance on Mrs.

Attorney General is Making Serious Probe Regarding Securities. 1 MAD NE THE ROAD UNDER FIRE Testimony of Officials Retracted in Face of the Records Paid Four Millions While Road is Capitalized at $25,000,000. The investigation of Attorney General Wade H. Ellis and the Ohio Railroad Commission of Eugene Zimmerman's Detroit, Toledo Ironton railroad, has disclosed some additional features of modern railroad financing, says the Toledo News-Bee. The disclosures of the inside affairs of the company were brought out before Mr.

Ellis in a hearing over threatened quo. warranto proceedings against the road. In the first place it developed that the securities which the investing public is asked to consider as representing the value of the property, have in- DECIDE YOURSELF. The Opportunity Is Here, Backed by Lima Testimony. Don't take our word for it.

Don't depend on a stranger's state- ment. Read Lima's endorsement. Read the statements of Lima citizens. And decide for yourself. Here is one case, of it: Mrs.

J. M. McClintock, of 741 north West street, Lima, 0., says: "For 8 or 9 years I had weakness of the back and kidneys. There a tired feeling and a heavy, aching pain in the loins, and while it was not severe enough to confine me to the house, it was a continual source of worry. I tried different remedies but nothing seemed to do me the least good until seeing Doan's Kidney Pills highly recommended, I procured a box at a drug store and began using them.

I felt benefited almost at once and from the results obtained I have no hesitation in recommending Doan's Kidney Pills, which I believe to be all they are represented. (The above statement made Oct. 19, 1898.) Seven years later, Mrs. McClintock added: "I can now state the cure I referred to six years ago has been permanent. I have had continued freedom from kidney trouble." For sale by all dealers.

And in the face of this showing the owners of the road declare, in answer to the demand of the state railroad commission for more equipment and a more. adequate service, that they can't afford to buy cars because each year shows a deficit in the fixed charge which is almost entirely, interest on the watered bonds. It developed, also, that every interest was well cared for by the road, except the farmers and elevator men. Testimony Corrected. An incident of the proceedings is the fact that several statements made by the road's representatives were retracted when evidence to the contrary, taken from their own books, was offered.

For instance, a large portion of the shipments from the furnaces of the Wellston, Iron Steel company, Wellston, 0., is handled on the T. I. R. E. Renderson, superintendent of car services, declared that no box cars were used for traffic.

He also denied that Mr. Zimmerman had any interest in the furnaces. The records showed that in the last four months of last year, 296 cars were furnished by the road to those furnaces. Of this number 200 were box cars. Reports on file in the secretary of state's office showed that Mr.

Zimmerman was one of the directors of the furnace company. Will Enter Toledo. Toledo, April -That the Toledo and Cincinnati Electric road has been successful in its efforts to secure an entrance into this city on the right of way of the abandoned Wabash Crosstown line is evidenced by the fact that houses on a portion of the right of way will be sold at tion Saturday. Surveyors have been at work for the last several weeks on the line between Perrysburg and the Wabash main line, near Waldridge Park, and the surveys, it is said, are practically completed. Smith, formerly general manager of the Ann Arbor. Sale Date Set. Toledo, April Federal court has fixed Tuesday, May 28, as the date of the sale of the Toledo Railway and Terminal property.

The sale will be conducted by Harry E. King as special master. The fixing of the date gives the Morgan interests about five weeks in which to arrange a deal for a private sale, providing a purchaser can be found, and there are reasons to believe this will be accomplished. In any event, the Morgan interests will make a desperate effort to save at least a fraction of the money represented by the $3,500,000 of stock held by them, which will be entirely wiped out if the property goes into a receiver's sale.
