According to the final prosecution witness, Dominador Lopez, assistant information secretary in the office of the governor of Davao Del Norte Province on Mindanao, Gerlock joined a procession of barefoot protesters who in 1971 walked 18 miles from Panabo to the provincial capital of Tagum, where the priest was director of the Roman Catholic Social Action Center. David Coon of Mansfield, organizer and developer of the first program, was present and explained that the purpose of the cooperative vocational educational program is to provide occupational training through the use of local business. He said that he is seeking the help of local businesses to take students and give them on-the-job experience. They will be paid an hourly minimum wage and will receive credit hours for their training. As a result of this program, the businesses should develop better employes and the entire program will help bridge the gap between high school and the business world, he explained. He said that he already has eight job offerings at the local level.

Jacob Hennip, representative of BLaST (Bradford, Lycoming and Sullivan, Tioga) Intermediate Unit 17, explained the proposed VoTech program, and his remarks brought several questions from board members. The board is concerned about possibly losing the computer science program already established in the district should funds be pooled into a county-wide program. A hook-up system from the Sayre, High School to the Mansfield State College computer bank. has been in operation for the past year, and was approved for another year last night. The vocational funds for this type of program would have to be used for type of VoTech program if the Sayre school system took part, and Mr.

Hennip said he could not guarantee that the computerprogram would be retained. The Sayre school district's argument regarding Vo-Tech will be brought out at a Bradford County school district administrators meeting Feb. 14 which H. Austin Snyder will attend, it was noted. 75 CENTS for each pattern.
