UAW LEADER SAYS Bargaining Policies Meet JFK's Goals City Walter Reuther put out a statement Monday night saying the lective'' bargaining policy of the United Auto Workers conforms with President economic stability goals. the statement was released on an urgent basis on the eve of visit to address the UAW convention. It was issued a day after convention report stating that wages for American workers should rise faster than gains in productivity. Since economic policy calls for wages to remain within the productivity increase measurements, summons for a faster w'age rise was interpreted in news stories as a challenge to the Kennedy formula. Reuther did not cancel his call for a faster wage rise but merely stated he saw eye to eye.
