The number of entries in the speed ring were so far above expectations that adequate room had not been prepared. There are ninety-seven entries In the harness events and besides these there are a number of run-. ners here Horses began arriving Friday and every train has brought in a number.

There will be no races until Tuesday. The entries In every department are greater than those of any previous fair held here Many entries are being made of stock and such that will be taken from here to the state fair. The first day's racing Includes the following races: Buggy race, track, horses barred, $40. First, $10; second, $10, third, $6, fourth, $4. Mule race, mile dash, fit.

First, $10; second, $5. One-half mile and repeat, $T5 The Arthur band will be here Tuesday to furnish Tuesday and Wednesday. It Is expected that they will bring along a good sized delegation Wednesday there Is $575 offered for the three races The- following superintendents have been Velected and will have charge of the exhibits In their departments at the fair Class A--D C.
