NOW at this day comes the plaintiff, by his attorney, and files his petition, and it a p-pearing from the affidavit of plaintiffs at tornev, filed with said petition, that the naic defendent, Wilson Lenox, is a non-residen of the 8tate of Missouri, it is ordered by the court that publication be made, notifying him that in action has been commenced agains him, by said plaintiff, by petition, in the circuit court of Miller county, in the State of Missouri, the object and general nature of which is to obtain judgement against said defend ants, for the sum of sixteen hundred and fif teen dollars, for trespass and damages sus tained by said plaintiff, by reason of the wrongful acts and doings of the said defend ants, and that unless he, the said Wilson Lenox, be and appear at the next term of this court, to be holden at the Court House, in Miller county, on the fourth Monday of April next, and on or before the third day thereof, (if the Term shall so long continue, and if not then, before the end of the term,) answer said petition, the same will be taken as confessed and judgment rendered accordingly. OW at this day comes the plaintiff, by his attorney, and files his petition, and it appearing from the affidavit of plaintiffs attorney, filed with said petition, that the said defendant, Wilson Lenox, is a non-resident of the State of Missouri, it is ordered by the Court that publication be made, notifying him that an action has been commence! against him by said plaintiff, by petition, in the Circuit Court of Miller county, in the State of Missouri, the object and general nature of which is to obtain judgment against said defendants for the sum of six hundred and twenty-five dollars, for trespass and damages sustained by said plaintiff by reason of the wrongful acts and doings of the said defendants, and that unless the said Wilson Lenox be and appear at the next term of this court, to he holden at the court-house in Tuscumbia, in Miller county, on the 4th Monday in April next, and on or before the third day thereof, (if the term shall so long continue, and if not, then before the end of the ter) and answer, plead or demur to said petition, the same will be taken as coufassed and judgment rendered accordingly. Dec. 6, 18G2-4w IMPORTANT NOTICE- Thero are a number of our subscribers who are iu arrears six to twelve months. The bills of all such will be made out and enclosed in their papers next week, and if not paid within the next month their names will be erasec from our books. In consequence of the heavy advance in the price of paper we cannot afford to continue sending our paper to persons who manifest no disposition to pay us. Those who feel disposed to patronise us must, in future pay in advance.

We have lost several hundred dollars by crediting subscriptions for a few days. TVe have dried that up. We bad rather have the white paper than print it on a credit. paper printing material, taxes, The Herald of yesterday says: Last Saturday morning near 8 oclock, in the vicinity of Stockton, on the Hannibal St. Joe.

Railroad, about one hundred miles from here, the accommodation and construction trains came in collision, smashing up both engines and several freight cars, kill ing two men and seriously injuring third. Their names are not known, but one or two of them were brakesmen. The riattc City Conservator speaks of returning peace in that county thus: We hear of no disturbances, cr of sistancc being offered to the authorities. Harmony and good feeling pervades the breasts of allj and those who have been at enmity with each other a learning to forgive and forget. We are law-abiding people now, and, we trust, will be allowed to continue so in the future.

Gen. Prices Son Pardoned- -Correction. We wrote last week that Brig. Gen. Edwin W.

Price, son of Maj. Gen. Sterling Price, had been pardoned by President. Lincoln, but the compositor made us say paroled. The President say has given him a full pardon of all treasonable, felonious, aud other crimes and misdemeanors whatever against the United States, committed up to the 18th November.

Gen. Price was taken prisoner some time since, paroled by Gen. Ilallcck, and afterwards exchanged for Gen. Prentiss. Subsequently he resigned his commission in the rebel army, and his friends appealed for his pardon.

While on his parole, and residing in Chariton county, he is sai to have exerted himself to! maintain peace and order by driving! off the guerrillas Columbia Statesman. homctliiuff for the Icigeiiioijs. The grinding surfaces to be of burr stone grooved chilled iron or steel, and the general construction of the mill to be analogous to that of a coffee mill. 3d. Each mill to be capable of grinding 8d pounds of fine llour or meal per hour, and to he capable of being worked by one man. 4th. Each mill to be constructed, if necessary, that it can be separated into two parts of equal weight, so as to be earned by two men should the length of march, lack of transportation, fatigue of the men, or other cause, ren- der its carriage too laborious for one man.

5th. Each mill to be capable of being attached to a wagon tongue, branch of tree, or stack of muskets. Inventors will submit plans, specifications, a mill for grinding corn and calling at this office. Mortgagees Sale of Beal Estate- WHEREAS Featherston Akers and Elizabeth Akers, his wife, nd Isaac C. Pennington and Martha E.

Pennington, his wife, by their Deed of Mortgage, dated the fifteenth day of March, Eighteen hundred and sixty-one, and recorded in the Recorders office, in the county of Moniteau, in the State of Missouri, in Deed Book (II,) on pages (369 and 379,) did convey unto Charles Hickcox, Mortgagee, the following described real estate, situate in Moniteau county, Missouri, to-wit: The north-east quarter of the north-west quarter, of seetion No. 19, township No. 46, of range 14, containing thirty-nine 8-1U0 acres; also the south-east quarter of the south-west quarter, of section No. 18. township No.

46, of range 14, containing thirty -eight eighty-one and half hundredths acres. Also, the north-west quarter ofthe northeast quarter of Section No. 19, Township 46, of Range 14, containing forty acres, which conveyance was made however, to secure the payment of a certain promissory note for one1 hundred and thirty-eight dollars and. fifteen cents, in said mortgage deed more particularly described. And whereas, said note bas long since become due and payable, and stilt remains unpaid; now therefore, the undersigned, mortgagee, in accordance with the provisions of said mortgage deed, will, on Monday the 22d day of December, 1862, at the premises aforesaid, in Linn township, in Moniteau county aforesaid, between the lours of nine oclock in the forenoon and ffv? oclock in the afternoon of that day, proceed sell the property above described, at public-vendue, for cash, "in order to pay said note and the costs and expenses of executing said mortgage, as provided for in said deed.

Also, the south-east quarter of the north-east quarter of section one, in Township 43, Range 15, less 6 acres and 11 Perches cut oft of the south-west corner of said last mentioned tract, and containing 33 acres and 01 Perches. The entire land above described containing 113 acres and 01) Perches, which conveyance was in trust however, to secure the payment of a certain promissory note for Five hundred and Ninety-four dollars, in said Deed more particularly described: and whereas, said note has long since become due and payable, and still remains unpaid. Winceslaus Ponder, Plaintiff, 5 civil Action John Royster, Defendant. by XTOW at this day comes the plaintiff by his 1 attorney, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that the defendant John Royster, cannot be summoned in this cause, it is ordered by the Court that publication be made, notifying him that an action has been commenced against him by petition and attachment, in the Circuit Court of Miller county, in the State of Missouri, founded on an action for trespass and damages, for the sum of two hundred and eighty-five dollars that his property has been attached; and un-unless he be and appear at the next term of this court, to be holden at the court-house in Tuscumbia, in the county of Miller, on the 4th Monday in April next, and on or before the third day thereof (if the term shali so long continue, and if not, then before the end ofthe term) judgment will be rendered against him and his property sold to satisfy the same. In the Circuit Court of Moniteau County September Term 18G2. Amasa Fowler, Plaintiff, vs. James A. White and Civil Action. Frank II.

Diehl, Defts. AJO at this day comes the plaintiff in the 1 above entitled cause, by his attorney, and it appearing to the Court from the return of the Sheriff, that the defendant, James A White has not been served with process; and it further appearing to the Court that th said James A White is a non resident of the State of Missouri, It is therefore ordered by the Court that the said defendant, James A White be notified by publication in the California News, a weekly newspaper published in the city of California, in the county of Moniteau, in the State of Missouri, for four weeks successively, the last insertion to be at least four weeks before the first day of the next term of this court, the object and general nature of which is to obtain a special judgment against him and his co-defendant, on a negotiable promissory note, for the sum of Two Hundred Dollars, with ten per cent interest from the 23d day of March, 1801. And it is further ordered that unless he, the said James A. White, be and appear before this Court, on or before the sixth day of the next term thereof, which will be begun and held at the court-house in said county of Moniteau, on the fourth Monday in March, 1863, (if the term shall so long continue, and if not then before the adjournment of the term,) and plead, answer or demur to said petition, the same will be taken as confessed as against him, and judgment rendered accordingly. And until which time this cause is continued.

NOW at this day comes his attorney, and files it appearing from the affidavit of plaintiffs attorney filed with said petition, that the said defendent, Wilson Lenox, is a non-resident of he State of Missouri, it is ordered by the 2ourt that publication be made, notifying him hat an action has been commenced against lim by said plaintiff, by petition in the Circuit Court of Miller county, in the State of Missouri, the object and general nature of which is to obtain judgment against said defendants for the sum of eleven hundred and ifty dollars, for trespass and damages sustained by said plaintiff, by reason of the wrongful acts and doings of the said defendants, and that unless he, the said Wilson enox, be and appear at the next term of this court, to be holden at the court house in Tuscumbia, in Miller county, on the fourth Monday in April next, and on or before the thiid day thereof, (if the term shall so long continue, and if not then, before the end of the answer to said petition, the same will ie taken as confessed and judgment rendered accordingly. It is further ordered, that a copy hereof be mblished in the California News, a newspa per mblislied in the county of Moniteau, for four week successively, the last insertion to be at east four weeks before the commencment of the next term of this Court.
