Jack Atkins was chosen victor by the powers that be and his suggestion that the Ardmore baseball team be called the Boomers has been officially endorsed by the club moguls, sports editors, numerous fans, and others. Hes the fellow who won the pass to the games in this city for the ensuing season. Consequently we take great pleasure. ladies and gentlemen, in introducing to you the Ardmore entry in the league basebajl circuit, the Boomers. (Much The Press received a number of names the past two days for the proper appellation for the team.

Included in the list we have from C. V. Goff, 002 Main street, the Admirals. From Leonard Belding we get suggestions for the naming of Rosebuds, also "Thorns. From Mrs.

Margaret Foster, 910 McLish, we received the suggestion Peakers. Her idea was that Ardmore means High Peak in the Indian language. Sam Jones, of the old soldiers home, who is one of the oldest fans in years, suggested Southdowns because Ardmore has a classy aggregation and because the team is the farthest south in the circuit. Numerous other suggestions were received including everything from Cubs to Tribunals and Vigilantes. The ball club owners, the team and the pajicrs of the city extend their thanks to the people who submitted names.
