am a-- F- 3-W -f -Mr v5 3 -J- -fnJr X- 4 -A THE BOSSIER BANNER THURSDAY MAY 13 1943 PAGE FOUR Rocky Mount widower and one daughter Mrs Berryman To these two and all other living relatives we extend condolence I a visit with Mrs daughter Mrs Walter Patillo and Mr Patillo of Throckmorton Texas Mr and Mrs A Smith had as guests Tuesday Mr and Mrs Platt and grandson Meredith of Bethany Miss Christine Bass and Mrs Rachel Rogers spent the past week-end at their homes in Rocky Mount Card of Thank We wish to take this means of expressing our thanks for many kindnesses shown during the recent illness and following the death of our wife and mother Mrs Etta Odom ODOM I Mrs BERRYMAN News A Christian Woman Claimed Many residents of Bossier Parish regretted to learn of the death of Mrs Etta (Crow) Odom wife of Odom of Bossier City who passed away on the 5th following a protracted illness Mrs Odom at the time of death was 65 years of age She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Crow (both deceased) and a native of Bossier Parish For many years she was a member of the Baptist Church and was recognized by all as a devout Christian woman The funeral service was held at the Rose Neath Funeral Home Shreveport and was conducted by Rev Houston Smith of the First Baptist Church Bossier City Interment was in Fillmore Cemetery Many relatives and old friends attended the last sad rites and the floral offering at the grave was exceptionally large Those serving as pallbearers were Messrs McCall Eatman Tom Hickman Needham' Simpkins and Barnett Members of the immediate family surviving the deceased are the Wanted To Buy A small Electric Refrigerator in good condition What have you to offer? District Conference of the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary was held Sunday at the 40 and 8 Club House on Cross Lake near Shreveport with the Lowe-McFarlane Post and Unit 14 of Shreveport as hosts The program for the district meeting featured addresses by Perry Cole of Baton Rouge department commander for Louisiana and Mrs A Isenberg of Lafayette department president of the American Legion Auxiliary Dr A Shaw jr of Shreveport was endorsed by the organization for state commander of the American Legion when the election is held at the state convention which will be held in Shreveport July 17th and 18th Mr Dillard of Belcher was elected fourth district commander of the Legion and Mrs Corbie Allen of Plain Dealing was elected by the Auxiliary as their fourth district president Attending the conference from Benton were Mr and Mrs McClure Mr and Mrs DeMoss Mr Kerr Mr A Wallace and Mr Hanks yanted At the Banner Office a lot of discarded sheets or clothing (with the buttons removed) for the Dairyland Products Company The children had been studying units on fire bakeries and milk and at each place of business they were shown the processes that take place in a time They were welcomed
