Mamheim-Ludwigsha-fen Germany and Cologne Germany The Indianapolis Caps a new member of the Northern States Football League will provide the opposition traveling with the Black Hawks throughout the Holland and Belgium will witness American professional football In 1977 Newton and the Chicago Lions of the NSFL took the game to France and Austria Drawing on lessons learned in that initial appearance in Europe Foster has drawn up a strong program for the June tour The most reputable firms have been contracted to handle tours details such as lodging meals tax payments and ticket revenues accounting and pre-game promotion and sales A limited partnership composed of prominent Quad-City businessmen and one from Indianapolis has been fanned to fund and organize the tour The two clubs themselves have no financial involvement in the tour A NUMBER of activities have been programmed into the tour such as exchanges of city keys official state receptions and the attendance of United States Embassy CHICAGO (AP) No runs no hits no words For six innings Steve Carlton pitched perfect ball against the Chicago Cubs Then for 49 minutes he shut out about 10 reporters waiting anxiously for his comments The silence of the Philadelphia left-hander came on the heels of his 13-0 three-hit complete-game victory Wednesday AT 3:53 PM the game ended At 4:25 Carlton took his shampoo from his locker and brushed by hovering reporters and into the training area At 4:37 he returned to his locker game a reporter said Carlton collected his clothes and did an about-face back to the training area At 4:40 he left the locker room fully clothed with reporters in hot pursuit "Nice talking to said one you got a few asked another Silence At 442 he strode out of Wrigley Field and down the street In other National League games Ted Simmons' two-run double in the fifth inning gave Bob Forsch all the runs he needed to record hits first victory (2-0 over Montreal) in 12 starts dating back to last September Pittsburgh stopped the Mets 4-3 Atlanta beat Los Angeles 3-2 San Francisco defeated Houston 8-4 in 10 innings and Cincinnati ripped San Diego 7-0 Carlton's silence paralleled that of the Cubs' bats Thanks to two sparkling plays by third-baseman Mike Schmidt that lumber failed to get a man on base for six innings But leading off the seventh Ivan Dejesus looped a clean single to left field He was wiped out on a double play In the ninth Barry Foote tripled but was pegged out at home on two-out single to center fielder Greg Gross Carlton three excellent a fastball slider and curve ball said Tim McCarver returning as his catcher after regular Bob Boone replaced him in his previous two starts to get more hitting into the lineup Phils Manager Danny Ozark said he would have liked Carlton 4-5 to get a perfect game but long as we won it much affect me With the kind of stuff he had I thought he had a DeJesus ended that chance "I just waited for the ball real good and made he said was an excellent pitch The guy just hit it They do that sometimes McCarver said of the slightly outside 3-2 slider The Phillies took a 2-0 lead in the second on Rudy two-run double Meoli went into the game with three hits and one RBI but kept hitting in the third when his two-run single increased the lead to 7-0 Rick Reuschel 2-5 was charged with all seven runs color guards at the games And it be all business for the teams either Several optional side trips to Paris England via hovercraft over the English Channel and a scenic boat trip up the Rhine River have been planned Fans from the Quad-Cities and Indianapolis making the trip will receive complimentary reserved-seat tickets to all five games There be any lack of American-type cheering at the games either The Honey Hawks a
