TT wr -TT- i ALL r'r'T 19 -Tel 2-4881 Banger Dally Nw Thursday February 23 1961 Lenten Windows By MARION FRENCH AINBST The Gentle Flame There is no busy person who does not hear if he is so blessed from loved ones the warning "You are doing too much" Yet busy people who so seem to be doing usually have a flame that makes the doing possible Most always it is a passion and Iqve for the kind of work they do that makes it not work but a kind of restoration to (he spirit It is an over-flow of the Great Idea which brings satisfaction and a kind of ease Dr Dooley spoke once of the idea which helped shape his 'ife "I must fill each minute full of sixty seconds worth of distance run" -v Albert Camus put it another way "One may long as I do for a gentler flame a respite a pause for musing But perhaps there is no other peace for an artist than what he finds in the heat of combat" Joype Kilmer spoke of it when he said "A poet must go where (he great songs are singing" All of these people left life young Yet all of these gave not just to their generation but to life and all of these were blessed by a great peace of soul because they felt what they are doing You and I may not be called to this kind of universality But the implication is clear and singing If we can look beyond the first mile if we can find -a sweet satisfaction what we are called upon to do whether daily or dreary or seemingly insignificant then we join a great company of those who find their gentle flame in the midst of a great bonfire of self Otyokwa Club Hobby Show Well Attended More than 200 attended a Hobby 22-Rep Clifford Mclntire said Wednesday he sees no prospect of an increase in the price of feed to Maine poultry and dairy if the Kennedy administration's latest feed grain program is enacted Mclntire a member of the Agriculture Committee pointed out that corn and soybean which are among the items pegged for increased price are important ingredients in Northeast feed formulas The Kennedy plan would boost supports on corn from $106 a bushel to $120 and on soybeans from $1 85 to $230 a bushel The Maine Congressmen said soybean prices at present are $240 a bushel but in a free-marketed operation this price would fluctuate depending on the supply Agriculture Secretary Orville Freeman outlined the emergency feed grain plan before committee Tuesday and key members predict its approval without
