See Local Notice. The Ladies' Branch of the Land League held a special meeting at the Ancient Or der of Hibernians' hall, Sunday afternoon, President Mrs. M. J. Peraoit in the chair.

The committee on the Shamrock feitival, to be given in city hall, next Wednesday evening, reported that the arrangements have been nearly completed, and a successful result is confidently expected. Many of our citizens have contributed liberally to the enterprise, and any donations in the line of eatables left at Thomas Carey's store or at city hall, Wednesday afternoon, will be thankfully received by the League. Latter's Orchestra has been engaged to furnish music for the dancing, anff Messrs. A. ConbAry ahfi ThoffiU were appointed as floor managers.

The price of admission, including dancing, will be 26 cents, and supper will be served in the hall during the evening. There will be a meeting of the League, to-morrow evening, and a full attendance is desired. Tho committee of arrangements are requested to be present The new shop which E. M. Dickinson Is about to commence building at the corner of Main and North streets will be a substantial brick structure, three stories high with a basement.

The building will be in form of the letter withe front of Si feet on Main street and 80 feet on North street The plans show that each wing Is 32 feet wide. At the angle of the wing is a stair tower about 60 feet high, rising one story above the roof of the building. This makes the stairway substantially fire proof and being separated from tbe work-rooms by brick walls, provides a safe means of egress In case of fire. In the rear of the stair tower 1b the boiler oom, 23x12 feet, connected with which is a chimney rising to the height of $0 feet The first-story walls are 22 inches thick, the second-story walls 16 inches, and the upper story 14 inches. All the outside walls are provided with air spaces.

The office will be on tbe corner of Main and North streets, accessible from both streets, and finished In ash. The building will be lighted with 29 windows In the first story, 38 In the second, 38 In the third, and 25 In the basement. An elevator will afford ready means of commu-BTcMIob to eaen floor.
