Earl Boyd "Jack Stinson died March 1, 1996, at a Calais hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of. Mary Elizabeth (Moses) Stinson. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his father, Gerald Stinson of St. Andrews, N.B.; three daughters, Mary Lynn Zahn and her husband, Daniel, Margaret Roberts and her husband, William, and Jacqueline Wilson and her husband, Reid; three grandsons, Evan, Travis, and Ryan; two granddaughters, Kandi and Kari; one great-granddaughter, Taylor.

He was, predeceased by his mother, Margaret (Miller) Stinson. He was a member of St. Andrews St. Marks Lodge, Rectory of St. Stephen and the Council of Calais.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Angligan Church Chapel in Chamcook, N.B. A Masonic service wijl be held 7 p.m. Friday, March 8, at the Angligan Church in Chamcook. Rev.

John Matheson and Rev. Wayne Cole will officiate. MacDonald's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. HARRY HOGER' STEVENS HERMON Harry Roger Stevens, 77, died Feb.

29, 1996, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Levant, July 31, 1918, the son of Harry and Myrtle (Watson) Stevens. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. He was employed as a mechanic prior to his retirement.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce L. Stevens of Eddington, Roberta Leathers of Millinocket, Linda A. Swoboda and her husband, Joseph of Hermon; one son, Victor Horton of Carmel; two sisters, Dorothy Bell of Hermon, Doris Cronkite of Etna; his former wife, Elinor Stevens of Hermon; 15 grand-- children, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ruth Engstrom of Newport and Danny Pearson Jr. of Hermon. He was predeceased by a daughter, Janet Lois; and a son, Harry Nelson.

There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hermon Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 6300, Hermon 04402. A graveside funeral service will be held in the spring at South Levant Cemetery at a time to be announced by Foley Funeral Service. OLIETA G.

BOWDEN PENOBSCOT Olieta G. Bowden, 82, died Feb. 28, 1996, at a Blue Hill hospital. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 1996, at the Grindle Family Cemetery in West Blue Hill with the Rev.

Tim Hutchins officiating. Arrangements by Healey Funeral Home, South Blue Hill. HILDA MAY MALCOLM MILLINOCKET Hilda May Mal- colm, 69, wife of Florian A. Malcolm died unexpectedly March 1, 1996, at a Millinocket hospital. She was born Nov.

11, 1926, in Brewer, the daughter of Thomas A. and Elmira A. Stewart. She was a member of the Millinocket Church of the Naza-rene. Hilda truly enjoyed her trailer at Jo-Mary Camp Ground and the many bus tours that she had taken.

Surviving are her husband of Millinocket, three sons, Florian Jr. and Thomas, both of Millinocket, and Alan of Sebasco Estates; five grandchildren that were the apple of her eye, Joseph and Stephen of Millinocket, Alex, Andy and A.J- of Sebasco Estates; one sister, Florence Malcolm of Detroit, Maine. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Robert A. Stewart. Friends may call at the James G.

Dowd Funeral Home, Millinocket, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Millinocket Church of the Nazarene with her son. Dr.

DAY KENDUSKEAG Guy W. Day, 90, of Kenduskeag, formerly of New Sharon, died Feb. 29, 1996, at Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation in Farmington, where he had been a resident for the past two months. He was born SepK 6, 1905, in Mercer, the son of Clyde C. and Harriet Hopkins Day.

died Feh. 12, 1996, at home. Mr. Friedman was owner of Bangor Window Company in Bangor before retiring to Florida 17 years ago. The past three years, Mr.

Friedman has made his home in Millburn, N.J. He was a member of the B'Nai Brith. Surviving are two daughters, Helen Kroll of Millburn, N.J. and Beatrice Green of Waban, Mass; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Burial was in Boston, Mass.

AVIS MAE COUSINS EAST CORINTH and BANGOR Funeral services for Avis Mae Cousins will be held 12 noon Saturday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Bangor, with the Rev. Tom Benson officiating. KEVIN T. MANZO PORTLAND and EAST MILLI-NOCKET Kevin T. Manzo, 30, died at his home in Portland on Feb. 16, 1996. Born in Millinoclcet, a son of Marilyn Pelletier Willey and Arthur Willey of East Millinocket.

He attended and graduated from Schenck High School. Kevin worked for Orthopedic Associates of Portland for several years. He was past president of East Millinocket Catholic Youth Organization and won the Catholic Youth Of This Year award in 1983. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, School Drama Club, chorus and band at Schenck. Survivors include his parents of East Millinocket; two brothers, Joseph A.

Manzo Jr. of East Millinocket. and Arthur Willey of Millinocket; a sister, Julie Willey of beloved sister-in-law, Valmere Willey of Millinocket; two nieces, Jessica Manzo and Jennessa Willey; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the spring at St. Peter's Catholic Church in East Millinocket.

Burial will be in the East Millinocket Cemetery. MARIE L. (KNIGHT) PHILLIPS GLENBURN Marie Lulu (Knight) Phillips, 68, died at her home in Glenburn, March 1, 1996, a long illness. She was born in Jack-son, Feb. 17, 1928, the daughter of William E.

and Annie Lulu (Ward) Knight. Marie was a member of Penobscot Aerie No. 3177 Fraternal Order of Eagles of Brewer. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 37 years, Ernest A. Phillips, are one daughter, Dawn Quinn and her hus--band, Dwain, all of Glenburn; one son, Patrick Oliver and his wife, Florence of Columbia Falls; four grandchildren, Jennifer R.

Quinn, Adam S. Quinn, Jamie Marie Oliver and James Wallace Oliver; one brother, Andrew Knight and his wife, Betty of Clovis, N.M.; one sister, Dorothy E. Giles of Bangor; several nieces and nephews; a special -sister-in-law, Elizabeth Phillips of Orrington. Joseph Hospital Ccpital Campaign, 360 Broadway, Bangor 04401. SHIRLEY S. CORSON BAR HARBOR Shirley S. Corson, 81, died at a Bar Harbor hospital Feb. 29, 1996.

He was born Trenton, Aug. 12, 1914, the son of Charles and Mary (Copp) Corson. He was a World War II Naval veteran who served in the Pacific, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds he received. Shirley was a member of the Masons and a former fire chief and member of the Trenton Fire Department. He was a shef metal specialist, having worked for the U.S.

Park Service, A. J. McKay, formerly of Bar Harbor, and Fred Beal of Ellsworth. He enjoyed hours of conversation with the men at the seaplane ramp in Trenton. Shirley was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Robert.

He is survived by one son and his companion, Carl M. Corson and Rachael Preble of Sullivan; grandson, Steven C. Corson of Trenton; sister, Mrs. Merrill (Adelaide) Cousens of Northeast Harbor; three nieces and one nephew with special remembrance of his niece, Persis Damon of Northeast Harbor for her loving care and attention; his former wife, Virginia Corson of Bar Harbor. At his request, private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Trenton Fire Department, RFD 1 Box 293A, Ellsworth 04606. Arrangements are by McFarland Funeral Home, 48 Eden Bar Harbor. 28, 1996, at Warrenton, Va. He was born in Madawaska, Oct. 30, 1932, the, son of John B. and Bertha M. (Cyr) Cfiar-tier.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Sirois) Chartier of Madawaska; two sons, J. Louis Chartier and his wife, Janet of Westbrook and Chuck Chartier of Portland; two daughters, Gisele Char-tier-Fortin and her husband, Luc of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Lise Chartier of Concord, N.H.; one brother, Marcel Chartier of St. Agatha; two grandsons, Geoffrey and Adam Chartier of Westbrook; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 :30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. Saturday until time of services.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring. RENE CHASSE MADAWASKA and BRISTOL, CONN. Chasse, 45, died Feb. 29, 1996, at a Fort Kent hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Madawaska, Aug.

8, 1950, the son of Raoul and Clara (Dufour) Chasse. He is survived by five brothers, Roger of Meriden, Reno of Hartford, Renald of Bristol, Robert of Grand Isle, and Richard of Ocean-side, five sisters, Rita Sims of Ocoee, Rosanne Chasse of Madawaska, Rina Ryan of Bristol, Rochelle Clavette of Madawaska and Regina Dumond of Fort Kent; 22 nieces and nephews, eight grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother in 1967 and 1964 respectively. Rene was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church in Bristol, Conn. Funeral services will be held at Madawaska Christian Fellowship Church 3 p.m.

Monday. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Visitations at the church will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 p.m.

until time of services on Monday. Interment will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in the spring. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Maine Division, 52 Federal Brunswick 04011. He was an inspiration to all who met him and he will be missed by all.

EVA GAGNON UPPER FRENCHVILLE Eva Gagnon, 88, died March 1, 1996, at a Frenchville nursing home. She was born in Daigle, April 7, 1907, the daughter of Docite and Elise (Cyr) Daigle. She attended normal school in Presque Isle and was a teacher for a few years. She also operated a general store and IGA grocery store for many years. She established a boarding home in 1958, which later was converted to the nursing home currently known as St.

Joseph Nursing Home. Mrs. Gagnon was an alumni member of the Madawaska Training School, now called UMFK. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.

Surviving ore two sons, Roger of Upper Frenchville, and Lloyd of Frenchville; five daughters, Mrs. Rena Richard of Frenchville, Mrs. Roween Husar of St. Dimas, Mrs. Doreen Keith of Claremont, Mrs.

Ruth Cyr and Jacqueline Poradis, both of Frenchville; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. Leone Ouellette of Eagle Lake, Mrs. Bertha Pelletier of Fort Kent, Mrs. Adrienne Daigle of Fort Kent, Mrs. Laurino Russell of Old Orchard Beach.

She was predeceased by her husband, David Gagnon; two brothers, Romeo and Leo Kim; and one sister. Carmen Desjardin. Friends and relatives may call at the Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a m. Monday at St. Luce Catholic Church with the Rev. Angelo Levas-seur. Donations may be made to the St.

Joseph Nursing Home Fund, in memory of Mrs. Eva Gagnory. NANCY L. MILLER BUCKSPORT Nancy L. Miller, 55, died Feb.

29, 1996, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1941, at Rockland, the daughter of Lyford and Marguerite (Ginn) Ames. Nancy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and especially her family. She is survived by her husband, Peter P.

Miller of Bucksport; two daughters, Lisa and her husband, Dwayne Joy of Bowdoin, Lori and her husband, Jamie French of Trenton; a very special granddaughter, Jordana Joy of Bowdoin; two brothers, Marshall Ames of Florida and George Ames of Surry; two sisters, Marilyn Moore of Birch Harbor and Marie Perkins of Surry, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be sadly missed by her eight cats. She was predeceased by her mother, father and three brothers. At her request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m.

Wednesday, March 6, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 14 Elm Bucksport, with the Rev. Peter Remick officiating. Spring interment will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Bucksport. CYR, DMD VAN BUREN Paul J. Cyr, D.M.D., 70, retired dentist and Van Buren resident, died Feb. 3529. 1996, at a Caribou pital after a long illness. He was born in Van Buren, March 6, 1925, the son of Dr.

Paul and Rena (Cyr) Cyr. He was educated in Van Buren schools, attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, and was a 1943 graduate of Van Buren Boys High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving overseas in New Guinea with the Seabees from 1943 until his discharge in 1946. He attended Ricker College in Houlton and graduated from Tufts University Medical School of Dentistry in Boston in 1952.

Doc Cyr practiced dentistry in Madawaska and Van Buren until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree Assembly No. 0349 of which he was an honorary life member and past faithful navigator. He was also a member of the American Legion Levasseur-Farrell Post No. 49 of Van Buren.

He served for several years on the MSAD 24 School Board, as well as the Van Buren Town Council, and was a trustee of the Van Buren Hospital District. Dr. Cyr was also a former member of the Van Buren Rotary Club and the Abel J. Morneault Public Library Board of Trustees. For many years he was an active member of the St.

Bruno Choir Society. Doc had a gift of kindness that was radiant to everyone who crossed paths with him. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife 41 years, Callista (Lousier) Cyr of Van Buren; three sons and their wives, Thomas P. Cyr and Libby Rountree of East Waterboro, John F.

Cyr and Diane (Morrow) Cyr of Ellsworth, Kenneth J. and Elizabeth Ferraro of North Danville, one sister, Sr. Irene Cyr, SCIM, of Saco; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Christopher, Danielle, and Jamie Cyr; an aunt, Mrs. Irving (Fern) Thompson of Dover, N.H.; one niece, Mrs. Irene (Bouchard) Bragdon of Durham, N.H.; a grandniece, Tara Bragdon; and a grandnephew, Todd Bragdon; several cousins.

He was predeceased by one sister, Maxine Bouchard. Relatives and friends may call at the Ouellette-Thibauli Funeral Home, 12 High Van Buren, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until time of service on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3 p.m.

Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Spring interment will be in the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in his memory to the St.

13, 1929. He worked on road construction around the state of Maine for 30 years. He ran the Whiting Creamery in New Sharon for three years in the 1940s. He also did carpentry work until he retired in 1972. He and his wife lived in New Sharon until 1994 when they moved to Kenduskeag.

He was a member of the New Sharon Volunteer Fire Department; twice past master and member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 128 AF AM of New Sharon. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and his family. He is survived by his wife, Faye Day of Kenduskeag; two sons, Roland and daughter-in-law, Marie Day of Kenduskeag, Lloyd and daughter-in-law, Peggy Day of Old Town; two sisters, Esther Smith of New Hampshire and Elizabeth Bowin of Skowhegan; a brother, Lawrence Day of New Sharon; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m.

Monday, March 4, 1996, at Adams Funeral Home, 3 Court Forming-ton, with a Masonic memorial service at 7.30 p.m. open to the public. A graveside service will be held later in the spring ot Village Cemetery in New Sharon. Friends may make donations in his name to the American Association, Maine Affilij ate, P.O.
