2t Tlip IJncoln Star Wednesdoy, April 8, 1970 McBride Trial Jury Selected A jury panel of eight women and four men will begin hearing testimony Wednesday in the first-degree murder trial of Robert McBride, charged in connection with the Oct. 28 shooting of his step-son, Ernest Eugene Beaman. The jury was selected late Tuesday after attorneys for the state and the defense questioned 34 prospective jurors any possible knowledge of the case of parties involved or itnesses expected to testify. Special emphasis on the questioning was placed on the prospective feelings in connection with the death penalty since the jury must determine the punishment in a first-degree murder case which carries a penalty of life imprisonment or cicath in the electric chair. McBride, 51, has entered three innocent pleas in connection with the charge including an nocent plea under new self-defense act.
