Ellen Stewart, which Included the singing of carols with Parker Aubrey at the piano; and readings by Mrs.

Stewart. Refreshment were served under the supervision of Mrs. Chry-ttel Carter and Mrs. Margaret Harrlman. A brief business session preceded the program with Mrs.

Vino McDonald presiding. Thera will be a full rehearsal of the Rebekah degree at the next meeting. Polio Campajgn Plans Announced For Bar Harbor BAR HARBOR. Dec. 24 Announcement of plans for the March of Dimes In Bar Harbor during the month of January was made this week by Q.

Thomas Bowden, Jr, chairman of the local campaign. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bowden accompanied by Mrs. Alton Jordan attended the March of Dimes organizational meeting held recently in Ellsworth.

Mrss. Jordan will again head the Mothers March" In the 1954 campaign (January 2-31). Bar Harbor made an exceUent showing In the 1953 March of Dimes, topping all other communities In Hancock County. Although Bar Harbor families have been more fortunate this year In the number of polio cases, the burden is still great The National" Foundation for Infantile Paralysis must continue to treat thousands of case many of these In Maine. In addition to those cases still needing treatment, the National Foundation is now committed to a multi-million dollar field trial to be conducted thli coming summer, of the newly developed polio vaccine.

This year's slogan, Research Will Win," Is based upon the Poundstlons continued fight for a proven method of polio prevention. It Is hoped that all who responded so generously last year will come forward again during the 1954 campaign. Individuals and organizations wishing to take part In this very worthy cause are asked to contact either Mr. Bowden or Mrs. Jordan.

Dec. 24 Sunday afternoon at the United Baptist Church In Ellsworth, Miss Charlotte' Nancy Jordan became the bride of John Miller Whitmore, aon of Mr. end Mrs. John Whitmore of Bucksport. The Rev.

Paul F. Kelratead, pas tor, officiated at tha double ring ceremony. Frederick T. Qrindla, church organist, played the wed' ding music and waa accompanist for Miss Erva Giles, soloist, who sang Because" and I Love You Truly." The bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a long gown of white satin and old lace with train. Her fingertip veil, which fell from a crown shaped headdress decorated with seed pearls, waa of net and lace.

She carried a bouquet of white carnations with orchid and ribbon streamers. Mrs. E. Robert Jordan, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a floor length wine velveteen gown, princess style with scalloped neckline.

Her matching scalloped headdress and muff were decorated with shattered pink car nations. The ring bearer waa Thomas Murray Jordan, brother of the bride.
