Commission members voted to meet on the fourth Wednes day of every month at 3:30 p.m. For the present, meetings will be held, at the Rock Island County Office Building.

The commission may consider meetings in other counties at a later date. A delegation of officials and members of Galva Civil Defense will be among those present Sunday at Black Hawk College, Moline, for a simulated civil defense training program. I It is scheduled to start at I 2:30 p.m. in Building 3. Also scheduled to be present are civil defense workers from Cotena, Green Rock, Atkinson, Annawan, Hooppole and Kewanee.

The training program was devised by Farrell R. Jordan, chief of the Rock Island Arsenal Fire Department and instructor in disaster techniques at Black Hawk College, Moline. The Irving School PTA has established a scholarship fund in memory, of Mrs. Virginia Hepner, a long time teacher and assistant principal at the Kewanee school. The Virginia Hepner Scholarship will provide two years of partial support to a student who attended Irving School for at toast one year, and who plans to attend Black Hawk College East, Kewanee. The first scholarship recipient to be named this spring, will receive $150 toward his college tuition and fees. Scholarship applications are available at Kewanee High School.

The award, given armuauy, is based on dependability, service, leadership and character. Miss Murphy will be presented a pin and certificate at the spring awards assembly and will enter statewide competition. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Collins Murphy of near Marietta.

A senior, Miss Murphy is a member of the National Honor Society and coeditor of the school yearbook. She plans to attend college next fall and study for a degree in foreign languages. A collision Wednesday morning on West Barnes Street caused moderate damage to a car driven by Elmer Faler 290 S. Jackson Bushnell.
