fiULirriN Suriday, Jan. 24, and FUNERALS Mrs. May Garreft COMANCHE (BBC) services for Mrs. May Cameron Garrett, 84, will be at Comanche Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery and the Rev.

John C. Wiles and the Rev. S. J. Isham will officiate.

Mrs. Garrett died at 4:25 a.m. Saturday in a Comanche nursing home. She was born Dec. 27, 1886 in Comanche County and had lived in the county all her life.

Mrs. Garrett was a member of the First Baptist Church of manche and married Frank Cameron' in 1904 in Comanchs. She was later married to Edward Garrett in 1946. He died 10, 1952. Survivors include a son, T.

E. (Buster) Cameron of che; three daughters, Mrs. Wyna Isham of Fort Worth, Mrs. Babe Williams of and Mrs. Billie Lou Reynolds of De Leon; two sisters, Mrs, Dollie Stewart of Comanche and Mrs.

Rebecca Odell of Wichita Falls; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. William C. Eager, 87 SAN SABA (BBC) Services for Williain Charles Egger, 87, Of Brady, a former San Saba resident, will be at 2 p.m. today at Howell-Doran Funeral Home. Rev.

Ray Ash will officiate and burial will be in City Cemetery. Mr. Egger died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday in a Brady hospial. Born Jan.

1, 1884 at Giddings, he married Dora Edwards Jan. 14,1907 at Round Rock. He was a retired rancher and had lived in San Saba County for some 40 years. A Baptist, he was also a member of the Masonic lodge. 'Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs.

A. M. Coalson of Brady, Mrs. Baxter Lively of San Saba, Mrs. Charlda Johnson of Sweetwater and Mrs.

Johnny E. Dodd of Lawn; two sisters, Mrs. A. S. Miller of Tulsa, Okla.

and Mrs. Jessie McCutcheon of Houston; two brother, R. L. Egger of Round Rock and B. F.

Egger eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Lee Ellis Preston, 66 Services for Lee Ellis Pres" ton, 66, of 1500 Main Blvd. will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Davis-Morris Funeral Home with bivial in Cox Cemetery. Mr.

Preston, a retired mechanic, was dead on arrival at Brownwood Community Hospital at 8:15 a.m. Saturday after a four-year illness. A lifetime resident of Brown and Comanche counties, he was a Baptist and was bom March 29, 1904. He married Annie Morgan in Comanche Dec. 24, 1924.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Joe Preston of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Whitely and Mrs. Jackie Stacy of Brownwood; two brothers, Ollie Preston of Brownwood and Ewell Preston of Comanche; a sister, Mrs. Jewell Woodcox of Brownwood; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Dr.

Glen Brooks, 81 MARSHALL Services for Dr. Glen Brooks, 81, of Marshall were held Saturday in Marshall with burial there also. Dr. Brooks died Thursday afternoon in Marshall after a short" illness, He taught at Howard Payne College -for 21 years and then taught at East a Baptist College in 'Mar' until "his 1 retirement. Mrs, Beulah Mauldin Mrs. Beulah Benton Mauldin 75, of Cross Plains died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday at Brownwood Community Hospital after a six- month illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Davis Morris Funeral Home with burial to be in Fail-view Cemetery.

A Brownwood resident 10 years, Mrs. Mauldin was bom May 10, 1895 at Grosvenor. She married R. H. (Hub) Mauldin Nov.

George Epperson. Comanche Heifers On Auction Block COMANCHE (BBC) A total of 44 heifers sold for $16,170 at the dairy heifer sale Saturday held at the Comaiiche County livestock center. The sale was in connection with the Comanche County Junior Livestock Show. The top selling heifer was a Holstein which also had a calf. jowned by Terry Brawley of Comanche, the pair sold for $535 to Robert Blue.

The grand champion heifer was also a Holstein owend by Brawley and sold for $590 to Gore Dairy. The reserve champion sold for $480 to Isham and Son Dairy at Energy. The auction sale Friday night at McDougal auction barn netted $31,150.85. Also held in con- Two Are Injured In Accident Here m- Susie Drew of 504 Sixth St. was listed in good condition Saturday night at Brownwood Community Hospital with injuries she suffered in a two-car accident reported to Brownwood police at 3:59 p.m.

A total of 107 hogs sold for $11,859.35 for an average of 52 calves sold for an average of champion steer $16,884.50 for $324.70. shown by Randal Murphree was the top selling steer. The animal weighed 875 pounds and sold for 67 cents a pound, a total of $586.25. The steer was purchased by Proctor Feed Seed Co. The reserve champion steer shown by Jimmy Carouth of De Leon weighed 775 pounds and sold for 50 cents a pound for a total of $387.50.

The top selling lamb.was a Southdown shown by Sid Miller of De Leon and it'sold for $1.10 per pound for a total of $126. The top. selling hog brought 180 and was shown by David Gilder of De Leon. Marijuana Case Names Five Here Five youths, three boys and two girls, have been charged here with possession of marijuana. All were taken to Brownwood city jail at 1:30 a.m.

Saturday and later transferred to Brown County jail. Charges of possession of marijuana were filed against Douglas Magee of McLean, Charles A. Calhoun, Robert Schroeder and Carolyn Calhoun all of Brenham; and Mary Rebel Harper of Eagle Pass. All had been released on bond by Saturday night with the exception of Magee. The five were arrested two miles south of Brownwood on Highway 84 early Saturday morning by Highway Patrolmen Jodie Markham and Curtis Baker.

Thirteen old Steve McDowell, a seventh grader at San Saba Junior High, received his award for the show's grand champion barrow. McDowell took grand pion honors with his gilt Friday. On Saturday, Tom Eppefsoh, 17, a junior in San Saba High School, was awarded champion of the show honors for his gra'rtd champin heavyweight Hereford steer. Other grand champions in Uie show, sponsored each year by the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce for FFA and 4-H Club members, included Olan Tisdale, 13, in the goat class and 14-yearold Hardy Stewardson for his Angus heifar, Ahdy Broyles, 8, of Cherokee exhibited the grand champion Angus which became the reserve champion of the show. Kerry Lively, 15, showed the champion shorthorn steer.

Lively also took top honors with his crossbred lamb along with Angie Kirkpatrick, 10, in medium finewool and 15 year old Raena Wharton in heavy finewool. -The auction sale began immediately after the showing Saturday afternoon with Cotton Baskin and Don Mathis serving as auctioneers.
