Stitely, A Great Store in a Great City PARACHUTED TO SAFETY After parachuting out of his damaged plane with his pilot and other air crewmen landing in Tokyo Bay and being picked up in a daring air rescue, Ralph C. Warehime, 22, AMM 2c, USNR, was returned to the USS Ticonderoga. Warehime, a son of Mrs. Kath-ryn Warehime, York Haven, was the rear gunner of a Helldiver bomber which had taken off on one of the last strikes of the war made by Third Fleet carrier planes, when the thrilling episode occurred.

The ship made a diving run over a Tokyo target when antiaircraft fire hit the tail of his ship and sent it into a spin. The men bailed out and landed in the center of Tokyo harbor, where they were picked uo by an Army plane six hours later. tS- HI Sgt. Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bailey, 307 Fifth avenue, a veteran of six campaigns in the ETO, has turned in his machine gun and is on his way home, the 36th "Texas" Division, of which he was a member, announced recently. Awarded the Bronze Star medal for heroic achievement in combat, Bailey has fought in North Africa, Italy, Southern France, the Rhine-land and Central Europe. Pfc.

Bailey has served over four years, 27 months of which have been overseas. He has 93 discharge eligibility points. After 41 months service in the Pacific, MSgt. Don C. Page, III, husband of Beverly S.

Henry Page, 362 Maryland avenue, is being returned to the United States from a B-29 base on Guam. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Don C. Page, 362 Maryland avenue.
