Centre county, saved George E. Stover, an employe at the and A. Chevrolet garage, this place, from taking a trip to the Centre county town on Saturday morning in custody with the Centre county sheriff and one of his deputies, when the two officials arrived here to nab him on desertion charges preferred against him by his wife, Mrs. George Stover, Parksburg. After making inquiry as to the whereabouts of the local client, it was found that his automobile license corresponded with the license number held by the officials.

Besides, his appearance was similar to that given by the Center county authorities. However, the officials gave up their wild goose chase after they reten pnoiograpn oi me; a n- and found that the local man was not the man they were after. It was learnt tnai uie centre county officials were side-tracked when, in their search for clues pertaining to the George Stover they wanted, inquired in the registration department of motor vehicles at Harrisburg and were given the name and license number of George Stover, from Spring Grove. About two weeks ago Postmaster Jesse S. Stambaugh received a letter from the Centre county sheriff relating the story and asking for information pertaining to George Stover.

Mr. Stambaugh answered the letter immediately and informed the neighboring county authorities of their mistake, because, as he stated, there are two persons living here by the name of George Stover, both of whom he has known for a long time, but neither of them answer to the description other than by name.
