Page 4 THE HERALD, Provo. Utah, Sunday. March 11. 1973 Ruth r. skanchy services fQjr Utahns Killed Obituaries Accidents 4 Elizabeth Rex, Mother of Dale Rex, Dies Elizabeth Smith Rex, 83, of Randolph, Rich County, died Friday of a heart attack at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.

She was born Jan. 30, 1890 in Manassa, Colo, to John Henry and Josephine Groesbeck Smith. She married Samuel Rex on March 6, 1912 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 12, 1967. She was a sister of the late LDS President George Albert Smith.

She also was the mother of Dale B. Rex for whom the Dale Rex Memorial Award and Dale Rex Army Reserve Armory is named. He was killed in World War II in Germany. Another son, S. Wayne Rex, died Aug.

8, 1967. Her family moved to Salt Lake City in 1895. A talented Vy In Traffic By United Press International Three Utahns were killed on Utah highways Friday, and one more died early Saturday. Shortly after 1 a.m.. the Utah Highway Patrol said, a Hunts-vine man died when his car rolled over on U-39 in Ogden Canyon.

The patrol identified the man as Ernest W. Convere, 30. Convere was reportedly thrown from his car into the Ogden River. In an accident just before Thomas L. Campbell SANTAQUIN Thomas Leuell Campbell, 71, of San-taquin, died Friday in a Salt Lake City car accident.

He was born Sept. 21, 1911 in Sugar City, a son of Benjamin F. and Emily Johnson Campbell. He married Rodna G. Crawford.

He is survived by his widow, five sons and three daughters, LaVell T. Campbell. Denver, Gordon R. Campbell, Orem; Dale C. Campbell, Lehi; Barry D.

Campbell and Kenneth C. Campbell, Payson; Mrs. Kent (Nancy) Bassett, Murray; Mrs. Gary (Emily) Hewitt, Sandy, and Mrs. Bill (Susie) Nelson, Mi'dvale; 27 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; four sisters and six brothers, Mrs.

Celesta Hales and Mrs. Beulah Voorhees, both of Provo; Mrs. Byron (Garda) Davies, Cannonville, and Mrs. Herbert (Susie) Waite, Phoenix, Nephi J. Campbell, Orem; Garr Campbell and Leon Campbell, both of Provo; Gene Campbell, Lindon; Allen Campbell, Tempe, and Cray ton Campbell, Magna.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Monday at the Santaquin Stake Center. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Payson, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and at the stake center Monday prior to the services. Burid will be in Santaquin City Cemetery. WAN El A Leah Sanchez Leah Loveless Rowland Sanchez, 72, of 465 S.

500 Provo, died Friday at her home of a heart ailment. A native of Provo, she was born May 12, 1900 to Alfred A. and Nettie Davis Loveless. She married Seth Rowland in 1929, and he died in 1943. She married Antonio Sanchez in 1952 in Elko, Nev.

She received her education in Provo schools and has lived in Ogden and Nevada. From 1929 to 1921 she lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She then moved back to Provo. She was a member of the LDS Church. Her hobbies were poetry, music and cooking.

Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Margaret Ruth) Larsen, Jerome, four grandchildren; one brother, Fred D. Loveless, Provo, and two sisters, Sadie Armstrong, Salt Lake City, and Ila Martin, San Clemente, Calif. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, Provo.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary and Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Provo City Cemetery. Merle C. Day BURIEY, Ida.

Funeral services were held Saturday for Merle C. Day, 59, of Burley, who died Tuesday of natural causes in a Boise, Ida. hospital. His brother, William Day, lives in Provo. He was born March 3, ISM in Oakley, Ida.

to George H. and Pearl Heiner Day. He married Dorothy Lively in 1937 in Pendleton, and she died in 1964. A member of the LDS Church, he also was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include sons and daughter, Darrell Day, Paul, Eugene Day, Washington State; Mrs.

Georgie McGregor, California; brothers and sisters, Ralph Day, Paul Ida, Raymond Day, Dayton, Ohio; William Day, Provo; Donald Day and Mrs. Joan Mayer, all of Burley; Mrs. Verla Legerda, Boise; and Mrs. Florence Wright, Elko, Nev. Burial was in Oakley Cemetery.

LeVon D. Deuel KEARNS Funeral services will be Monday for LeVon Duke Deuel, 59, of 5071 S. 4420 who died Thursday of natural causes in a Salt Lake hospital. A native of Lindon, she was born Oct. 15, 1913 to Mahonri Moriancumer and Laumaudie Wilmurth Wall Duke.

She married Walter T. Ha gen; and he later died. She married Harold Verdee Deuel' March 14, 1953 in Salt Lake City. She was a member of the LDS Church. Surviving are her husband, sons and daughters, Ronald Hagen, and Robert Hcgen, both of Granger, James Hagen, Ray Hagen and William Hagen, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs.

Carl (Linda) Winfield, Seattle, and Mrs. Larry (Susan) Black, West Jordan; 20 grandchildren; brothers and sister, Marion Duke, Lakepoint; Lewis Duke, Magna; Earl Duke and Mrs. Belle Rames, both of California. Services will be at 2 p.m. at 6500 S.

Redwood where friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday one hour before services. Burial will be in Redwood Memorial Estates. LOGAN Funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. for Ruth Robbins Skeen Skanchy, 62, of Logan who died Thursday in a local hospital of a heart attack. bne had several relatives in Springville. She was born Aug. 1, 1910 in Snowviiie to William T.

and Agnes Matilda Brown Robbins. She married Grant Gordon Skeen, and he died July 24, 1945. She married W. Dean Skanchy in Elko, Nev. on April 3, 1949.

An active member of the LDS Church, she was a worker and a Relief Society worker in the Logan Fourth Ward. Survivors include her husband and sons, Bruce Skeen, Logan; Grant Skeen, Corinne, Box Elder County, and NayVan Skanchy, Logan; three grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Sara Hyde, Mrs. Margaret Beck, Max Robbins, Grant Robbins and Thomas Robbins, all of Springville; and Mrs. Betty Harper, Boise, Ida.

Services will be at Hall Mortuary Chapel where friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour before services. Burial will be in Logan Cemetery. Camilla W. Stevens AMERICAN FORK -Camilla Watson Stevens, 62, of 108 S.

200 American Fork, died Friday of natural causes at her home. She was born May 28, 1910 in Glendale, Kane County, to Reuben J. and Margaret Mace Watson. She married Hyrum Howard Stevenson, Dec. 31, 1930 in Kanab.

The marriage later was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 3, 1970. She was a housewife and a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. An active member of the LDS Church, she was Relief Society visiting teacher and she worked in the MIA.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Shirley) Greenwood, American Fork, four grandchildre-; three brothers and one sister, Arlo C. Watson, Elden M. Watson, Mrs. Ernest (Dorothy) Fenstermaker, all of Ogden; and Lynn M.

Watson, Toquer-ville. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, American Fork, where friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in American Fork City Cemetery.

He married Rhea M. Freeman on June 1, 1938 in Pleasant Grove. They later were divorced. He married Madge Okey Wright Nov. 19, 1972 in American Fork.

He was a car foreman for Union Pacific Railroad. He was past president of BRCGA, past president of Union Pacific Railroad Old Timers CIjd No. 34, past president of Mapleton I Jons Club and past secretary of Mapleton Riding Club. He had been an auxiliary fireman at Mapleton and was a former auxiliary policeman for Provo. He also was a member of the American Fork Fourth Ward LDS Church and was a member of BPOE No.

1910 in Springy; He, a son of George William and Esther Ruth Kelsey Mason. He married Mary Lavell Newell on Feb. 6, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He belonged to the Carpenter Union local for 25 years. He assisted in the original construction of Geneva Steel Plant and after its completion was employed there for a period.

He later worked as a carpenter in various positions and for the past 15 years operated his own sharpening service. He held a membership card as a son of Black Hawk Encampment and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Provo 20th LDS Ward where he was an elder. Survivors include his widow and two sons, Dean N. Mason and Keif) H.

She was a secretary and had been employed by Berg Mortuary in Provo, by the LDS Church in Logan and Salt Lake' City, by Walker Bank in Logan and by Sears in Murray. A member of the LDS Church, she was active in YWMIA and was junior Sunday School organist. She is survived by one Denise Luster, Provo; her mother, Provo, and one brother, Stanley H.

As a member of the Salt Lake Tabernacle choir, she made two trips with the group one in 1909 to the Lewis and Clark Exposition at Seattle, and another in 1911 on a five-week concert tour to New York City. After her marriage, she left the choir and moved to Randolph. She was in demand as a soloist at social and church functions both in Salt Lake City and the Woodruff LDS Stake.

She had been an active choir member for over 60 years. Her work in the LDS Church has included chorister of the ward and stake Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary, and president of the ward Relief Society. She had been president of Ladies Literary Club and captain of the Randolph Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers National organization. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Donald S.

Rex, Georgetown, and Mrs. Vern (Barbara) Wade, Provo; 15 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Josephine Smith of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be at Randolph Ward chapel Tuesday at noon. Friends may call at Gilbert Bills Mortuary, Evanston, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.

Morgan Kennedy Morgan Keith Kennedy, infant son of Lewis T. and Linda Marie Stillman Kennedy, of 444 Beverly Ave. Orem, died Thursday of prematurity. He was born Wednesday night at Utah Valley Hospital. His parents are members of the Orem Ninth LDS Ward.

Surviving are his parents and one brother Brent Kennedy; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard M. Stillman Orem; Mrs. Marjorie Woodward, Alaska; and a greatgrandfather, Harry Kennedy, Spanish Fork.
