A 0000 00 0 0 0 0 Lincoln County News LINCOLNTON, N. C. MONDAY, APRIL 11, 1921. SCHOOL CONTESTS COUNTY- WIDE CONTESTS TO BE HELD SATURDAY NIGHT, APRIL 16TH. The public schools of Lincoln County will hold a series of contests Saturday night April at 8 o'clock p.

m. These contest will mark the combination of a series of local and tonwship contests which are being held among the public schools throughout the county. These contests are a new feature of the public school work hoped in that the Lincoln success County of the and contests is. will be such as to guarantee their ostablishment as an annual fenture of the school work of Lincoln County in the state. These contests begin in each school.

The school 1 holding its local preliminary to decide the representatives which it will send to a township preliminary. The township preliminary is held in some school in each township and this preliminary decides the successful contestants which each of the five townships will send to the final contests. The final contests will be held at the following places: The High School Recitation Contest and the Story Telling, Contest for the primary grades be held at the Lincolnton Graded auditorium; and the Spelling for The High School Declamation, contest grammar grades will be held in the Union High School Auditorium, near Reepsville; and, the Elementary Recitation Contest and the Story Writing Contest will be held in the Auditorium of the Denver High School. All these contests are to be held Saturday night, April 16th, beginning at 8 o'clock p. is invited to attend "These contests and it is hoped that the educational work of the county is sufficiently interesting to insure a large attendance upon these contests.

A lively interest has been manifested by the schools of the county in preparing for, these contests and an evening of enjoyment and entertainment will be given those who attend. The Preliminary Contest for Lincolnton Township will be held at colnton Graded School Auditorium, Wednesday, April 13. The exercises will begin promptly at 8:00 p. m. All contestants are requested to be present and ready for the hour set.
