Oct 20 Two minor accidents occurred within minutes of each other shortly before noon here Saturday The first happened on Main Street when a car driven police aaid by Robert Polky 26 of Spruce Head swerved to avoid hitting a car that was backing to park and struck another vehicle operated by John Putansu 60 of St Oeorge Damage to the right front fender and body of car was estimated at 7S No damage was done to the other vehicle The second accident occurred on Orace Street when according to Rockland police a car driven by William A Simmons 72 of Warren pulled sway from the curb and struck a car driven by Jeannette Waldo 52 of Warren and at the same time hit a parked car owned by Wilfred Cross of Searsmont Damage to the right front fender and running board of Mrs car was estimated at 1140 Damage to the fropl bumper of car was estimated at $35 and damage to the left rear fender of the Croaa vehicle was estimated at 10 Police aald there were no Injuries either of the accidents Ten Pay Fines During Week In Waldo Court BELFAST Oct 20 William John Marsh of Boston Mass Mitchell Oeorge of Milton Mass and Francis Peary of Dorchester Mass appeared before Judge Richard Glass in municipal court last week charged with disorderly conduct The complaint was issued after a disturbance at the Snack Bar on Northport avenue They pleaded guilty to separate charges of disorderly conduct and were fined $15 each which they paid Irvin Kenney of Searsport charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the Influence of Intoxicating liquor paid a fine of 100 and his license was suspended after he was found guilty Philip Harriman of Stock-ton Springs was charged with having short clams illegally in his possession He pleaded guilty and paid a fine of 20 Harold Shaw of Etna charged with speeding pleaded guilty and paid a fine of 15 Bion Young of East Corinth pleaded guilty to speeding and paid a fine of 20 Ralph Bucklin of Belmont also charged with speeding pleaded guilty and paid a fine of 15 William West of Belfast was charged with operating a motor vehicle without license plates attached He pleaded guilty and paid a fine of 10 Robert Townsend of Booth-bay Harbor pleaded guilty to speeding and paid a fine of (25 and his operator's license was suspended for ten days THOMASTON Oct 20 Miss Charlene Elaine Hathorne of 1 Dunn Street Thomaston became the bride of Robert Alan Benner of Waldoboro Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Federated Church parsonage The Rev John A Morrison pastor performed the double ring ceremony The bride was attired in a salt and pepper tweed suit with black and white accessories and an orchid corsage Mr and Mrs Charles Hathorne uncle and aunt of the bride attended the couple A reception followed the ceremony at the Oct 20 -Property damage estimated at (300 resulted on Route 131 here this afternoon when a car police say was driven by Marlon Aldus 19 of Hope collided with an auto driven by Mrs Maude 8 Fuller 66 of Union Damage to the left front fender bumper and window of the vehicle driven by Miss Aldus and owned by Edwin Aldus of Hope amounted to 200 An estimated 100 damage was done to the left front and rear fenders and left door of Mrs Fuller's car No Injuries resulted from the collision which state police are still Investigating Brooks Lions Club Plans Ladies Night BROOKS Oct 20 The Brooks Lions Club disturb what was otherwise a peaceful weekend for local firefighters The giant apparatus was called out to retrieve a television antenna which a strong wind had blown over causing it to hank precariously out over Elm street at the corner of Main where it was perched cn top of a three story combination store and apartment building Firemen called to the rescue from their headquarters in the next block were unable to find a way to the roof and were forced to bring out the large vehicle Fireman Dick Luce climbed to the roof and pulled the antenna back to where It belonged The truck
