Population of U. S. by New Census The population of the United States, not including insular possessions, is 105,683,108, according to the 1920 census, an increase of 13.710.842 or 14.9 per cent since 1910. The Kilburn family and guest journeyed Tuesday Queen City Park and enjoyed a family reunion and picnic. A surprise party was given to Mrs. Comstock and Mrs. King on the occasion of their seventieth birthday, in the Baptist chapel on Monday evening by their friends. It was a complete surprise to both ladies.

Games were played and songs sung. In behalf of the friends. Rev. Mr. Tolman presented the twins with a sum of money as an expression of the appreciation of the many present.

Rev. B. J. Lehigh of Barre will preach in exchange with the pastor. Mr.

Lehigh is a fine preacher and it is hoped that there will be a large congregation to hear him. Sunday school at noon. Everybody invited. The evening service will be omitted. at 4 n.

there will be'a box for the children in the chapel. There will be recitations, music and good time with games. Special Announcements The Baptist Ladies' Aid will trold harvest supper in the vestry Thursday evening. Oct. 21.

The Woman's Literary club will meet Saturday of this week at 3 o'clock with Mrs. B. D. DuBois. The annual business meeting of the Randolph branch of Red Cross will be held in the Parish house on Oct.

21 at 8 p. m. A large attendance is desired. The annual observance of Bag day will occur at the Randolnh sanatorium Saturday. Get.

23. Contributions made at this time have proven of vital importance in the maintenance of the hospital. Adv. The regular meeting of the W. R.

C. will be held Saturday evening, when State Inspector Mrs. Nellie Crowley of Rutland will be present and instruct the corps. All members are requested to be present. The United States Civil Service commission has announced an examination to be held at Randolph, on Nov.

13. 1920. as a result of which it is expected to make a certification to fill a contemplated vacancy in the position of fourthclass postmaster at East Randolph and other vacancies as they may occur at that office, unless it shall be decided in the interests of the service to fill any vacancy by reinstatement. The compensation of the postmaster at this office was $217 for the last fiscal year. Death of William P.

Young William P. Young, aged 77, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lena Y. Wright, on School street. The cause of death was old age and heart trouble incident.

Mr. Young had been ill since last of June and confined to the bed practically all of the time. He had been a great sufferer recently. William P. Young was born in Brookfield and spent all of his life in this immediate vicinity.

He was a farmer by vocation all his active life. Early in the Rebellion he enlisted in Co. 4th Vt. Volunteers, and served three years and nine months, twice wounded. He was a member U.

S. being, Grant post, No. 96, G. A. R.

The deceased is survived by one brother, George Young of Salisbury; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Rogers of Braintree and Mrs. Caroline Rich of California; one daughter, Mrs. Lena Y. Wright; two sons, Elwin W.

Young of Concord, N. and Lynn G. Young of St. Albans, and five grandchildren. The funeral was held from his late home Wednesday afternoon, Rev.

R. H. Moore officiating. Interment was in Pleasant View cemetery. The G.

A. R. veterans conducted their usual funeral services. Those from away to attend were Mr. and Mrs.

Horace I. Young, Mrs. Hearl Bean, Mrs. Will Chaffee and Waldo Gee of Rochester, Mr. and Mrs.

Merton Rogers and Mrs. Sarah Rogers of East Braintree, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Young of St. Albans and Elwin Young of Concord, N.
