rrt John Watson, the celebrated English philosopher of Queen's Oollere. Queenstown, Canada, -will arrive in Berkeley next Saturday and deliver a series of lectures before tihe Tneosophi-cal Society of the University. Professor Watson is 48 years of age and has been at the head of the department of philosophy at Queen's College since 1872, period of twenty-four years. He was graduated from the University of Glaji gow, having received from that institution the degrees of M. A.

and LL. after which he studded for a tfane at Oxford. While at Oxford he was a pupil of Dr. Kant, the eminent writer of treatises on philosophy, and was also under 'Professor Jewett, master of Balliot College, Oxford. For the past year the union at Berkeley has been discussing i Dr.
