church in St Albans and interment will be in the Holy Cross cemetery there The body ig at the Driscoll and Moran Memorial in St Albans Margaret (Sandison) Gauvreau was born in Scotland Oct 12 1881 daughter of George and Mary (Riddle) Sandison in 1912 she was married in St Albans to Albert Gauvreau and the couple came to Montpelier later and for about 30 years they operated a tailor shop in the Blanchard block at 73 Main street Mr Gauvreau retired about 1930 and he died while vacationing in Florida in 1932 Mrs Gauvreau made her home at 13014 State street She is survived by two brothers James Sandison of East Montpelier and Peter Sandison of Barre There are also several nieces and nephews among whom are Mrs Gordon (Adeline) Sheehey of Seattle Wash and Harold Pelkey of St Albans Disease Total Climbs A startling increase in the number 'of cases of communicable diseases reported to the Montpelier health officer last year in comparison with the previous year is' shown in the annual report of Montpelier Health Officer Dr Clarence Burr A total of 750 cases of communicable diseases were reported last year almost 600 more than for 1948 year when 156 cases were reported Most of the increase is due to the large number of measles and mumps reported in 1949 There were 365 cases of measles and Iff eases of german measles while mumps cases totaled 318 In 1948 there were only five cases of measles and 16 of mumps The number of other communicable diseases reported in 1949 are as follows: chicken pox 25 polio 1 scarlet fever 20 whooping cough 5 National Life Meeting The executive committee of the General Agents association of the National Life Insurance company convened at the home office here today for a four-day business meeting The executive committee meets at the home according to the annual report made public today Total expenditures amounted to $10793 89 and receipts were $86561 Janitors' salaries amounted to $528547 Other expenses are as follows: Heating $254097 electric supplies $6115 lighting $78744 gas $9105 water rent $10750 repairs and supplies S90R63 care of clock $15825 insurance $73788 miscellaneous $7363 and repairs to boilers $4192 Rentals from the city hall auditorium brought in $715 while rentals from other rooms gave a revenue of $36 to the city The only other item of income was $11461 listed as miscellaneous In charge of the arrangements for
