N'nvfmbrr 31, Owner of Holdrege, Mayes (Center TV Stations Would Add Superior License to build and operate a third television station in Nebraska is sought by the Bi-States Co. of Holdrege in an application to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The company now operates KHOL-TV Channel 13) of Holdrege and KHPL-TV (Channel 6) of Hayes Center. The newr application is for Channel 4 at Superior.

Favorable action by the FCC probably would give Bi- States the largest area coverage of any Nebraska television concern. A considerable portion of the receiving area would be in Kansas. KHPL-TV is a satellite, telecasting the same pro- Radio-TV Programs KFAB, Nebraska's largest, affiliated The Journal, The Star, clear channel, 50.000 watts. NBC programs. This is the second time that the Bi-States Co. has applied for a station in Superior. The first, in 1960, was blocked by the Nebraska Council for Educational Television which also wanted to establish a station there. Dr. Brewster said the FCC ruled last November that Superior was reserved for commercial television.

In fact, Mayor Dean Petersen had arranged a pleasure trip to stop in Washington and continue his inside work on the project. The mayor wants the building to be located in the downtown core area.
