000:009 00 00000 0 Page 9 Say you saw it in the Town Crier PERSONAL ENTS 200 New School Board Members Elected During New Hampshire's town meeting day last week, three new members were elected to the 11-member Fall Mountain School District Board, which represents the towns of Acworth, Alstead, Charlestown, Langdon and Walpole. James Chandler of Charlestown, William Moses of Walpole, and Jeff Downes of Langdon were elected to the board. They replace Albert St. Pierre of Charlestown, Maurice LaCroix of Langdon and Sandra Knowles of Walpole. Chandler received 1333 votes, Moses 1330, and Downes 250.

The new members will be participating in the teacher and support staff contract negotiations, which have been going on for the past 18 months. Teachers have been obituaries Howard A. "Red" Augustinowitz, 65, of Walpole, who died at his residence March 13, was held at the Fenton and Hennesey Funeral Home, Bellows Falls.

The Rev. Robert Wall officiated. He was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Bellows Falla, son of Felix and Rose (Victorovica) Augustinowitz. He attended school in Bellows Falls.

He served in the U.S. Navy in World War IL. Mr. Auguatinowitz worked for Hanifin Lumber and Basketville until his retirement. He was a member of the Brattleboro VFW.

The wage increase of 13 percent the first year and 14 percent each of the next two years was recommended by the factfinder's report and put on this year's annual school district warrant. During voting on March 10, however, voters from the five towns in the district defeated the recommendation 319-270, saying it was too much for local taxpayers to bear.

The school board had offered the teacher's union an 11 percent increase in each year of a three year contract. The union rejected the offer.
