50c. RED LION NEWS AGENCY On the Square Phone 21424 Mrs. Simon Beard Dies At Porter's Sideling Porter's Sideling Mrs. Bertha Irene Beard, 57, wife of Simon Beard, died Sunday at 11:45 p.m. at her home after a month's illness.

Mrs. Beard retired as an employe of Hotel Richard Mc- Allister, Hanover, about three months ago because of ill health. A daughter of the. late Edward S. and Jane Danner Brillhart, she was a member of Bethel Reformed church.

Smith's Station, where she taught a Cunday school class for a number of years. Her first husband, John G. Rohrbaugh, died in 1939. Surviving in addition to her second husband are: Two daughters by her former marriage, Mary Jane Rohrbaugh, at home, and Mrs. Stewart Wagner, 106 North Williams street, York; one granddaughter and a number of step 'children and step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. ih Bair's Meeting house, York Road station. Rev. Harvey M. Light, pastor of West Manheim Reformed charge, will officiate.

Interment will be in York Road cemetery. Arrange-, ments are in charge of Frederick Bucher, Hanover. Downs and Paul Heim. "Boards not reorganizing last night were Winterstown, North Hopewell and North Hopewell-Winterstown Joint. These boards will convene Dec. 12 to effect reorganization. The area board last night decided to continue study of a proposal of changing from a municipal authority to the state public school building authority for financing construction of schools.

Members said the advantage in the change would be a saving in interest rates. Churcli Society Elects Officers Mrs. Emma Cross retained president of Hopewell United Presbyterian WMS near Laurel. Laurel Mrs. Emma Cross was re-elected president by the Women's Missionary society of Hopewell United Presbyterian church at a meeting Thursday evening.

Other officers for 1957 are: First vice-president, Mrs. Mary Hyson; second vice-president, Mrs. Verna Cross; secretary, Mrs. Charles A. McConaughy, and treasurer, Evelyn Keesey.

These department secretaries also were named: Thankoffering, Mrs. Pearl Tompkins; temperance, Mrs. W. Wade' Miller; literature, Mrs. Elizabeth Rehmeyer; junior society, Mrs.

Dorothy Grim; junior society assistant, Mrs. Ethel Lef-fler; Bible study, Mrs. Carrie Lef-fler; pianist, Jennie Cross, and assistant pianist, Mabel Keesy. These officers were nominated by a committee comprised of Jen nie Cross, Mrs. Elizabeth Rehmeyer and Mabel Keesey.

Mrs. Melva Collins led the group in the study of the topic, "America, The Beautiful," and used theme, "Challenge Accepted by John," for the worship service. Program topics were given as follows: "On Vale and Hamlet," Mrs. Mary Hyson; "Ministering to Those Who Live Apart," Mrs. Verna Cross, and "America! God Mend Thine Every Flaw," Mrs.

Florence IJyson. Bible questions on "Love" were directed by Mrs. Carrie Leffler. Mabel Keesey, Mrs. Florence Hyson and Mrs.

W. Wade Miller were named to a committe to arrange Christmas for the shut-ins. Mrs. Emma Cross, president, directed the business session. Ronald Grim served as leader for the junior society which met at the same timeand place.

Program participants included Glenn Collins, Joe Rehmeyer, Lona Grim, Jessie Leffler and Jean Marie Rehmeyer. Mrs. Stanley Hartzell, Former Winterstown Area Resident, Buried Winterstown Funeral services were conduct yesterday at the Burg Funeral home, Red Lion, for Mrs. Elizabeth B. Jackson Hartzell, Bellsville, 111., formerly of; near here, who died Thursday in St.

Elizabeth's hospital, Bellville. She was the wife of Stanley Hartzell. Her pastor, Rev. T. R.

Husler, of St. Paul's EUB church, this place, officiated. Pallbearers were Benjamin F. Stiffler, Lloyd Wilhelm, George and Wilbur Anderson, Charles Seitz and DonaM Over-miller. Interment was in Winters-town EUB cemetery.

George Cor-bett and songs by the mothers' chorus will be included on the program. A Christmas party with an exchange of gifts will feature the meeting of the Ladies' auxiliary of the local fire company at the hall Friday evening at 8 o'clock. B. Myrtle Shenk Of Delta RD 2 Buried Delta Funeral services for B. Myrtle Shenk, Delta RD 2, who Uied at 1 a.m. Saturday at. her home, were conducted yesterday from the late residence.

Rev. Edward S. pastor of Salem Methodist church, near Delta, of which she was a member, officiated. Pallbearers were I. W.

Chandlee, Jesse and Po-teet, Daniel Urey, Harry Barnett and Emmett Taylor. Interment was in Salem Methodist church cemetery. The deceased woman, daughter of the late John and Mary Poteet Shenk, is survived by two sisters, Jessie M. and Pearl E. Shenk, both at home, aiH a son, Robert F.

Dellinger, Red Lion physician, was re-eleoted president of Red Lion Area School district board last night for his second term. Also retained were: Donald Snyder, Lower Chanceford township, as vice-president, and Robert H. Barteaux, North Hopewell township, as full time non-member secretary of the board. The only contest among the three top offices developed for the vice-presidency where Fred Tome, Windsor township, was the other nominee. Six of the nine-member boards re-organized last night.

Red Lion VFW And Ladies' Auxiliary To Sponsor Play Red Lion Red Lion VFW Post 1446 and its Ladies' auxiliary will sponsor the two act-comedy, "Hell on Wheels," tonight at 8 o'clock in Windsor Township schoolaudi-. torium, Windsor Manor.

Three of the five-person cast" are paraplegic veterans of World. War II or- the Korean conflict. There is one other man, also a veteran, and fifth cast member will be Barbara Reed, Red Lion RD 2, an eighth grade student at Windsor Township Consolidated school, who will play the role of the "Local Girl." The four-man troupe is from Los Angeles, Calif. Show proceeds will go to the hospital and community service funds of the VFW and its auxiliary. Mildred Burke is chairman of the joint committee, which also includes Iola Forry, Ruth Blouse, Patricia Burke, Louise Noller, Lillie Tyson, Anna Sechrist, Andrew Shostak, Samuel Saylor, Clair Paules, John Sechrist, William Flaharty and George Craley.

Tickets are available at the local VFW or- American Legion post homes, also from members of the Windsor Township PTA and will be sold at the door. Peter E. Graham 66, Veteran Railroad Man, Dies At Columbia Home Columbia Peter E. Graham, a veteran employe of Pennsylvania Railroad company, died yesterday at 6 a. m.

at his home, 228 Maple street. He was 66 years old. Mr. Graham, who had been employed on the railroad for 45 years, was a member of Spring-ville church, near Craley. Surviving are: His wife, Mrs.

Maggie Arnold Graham; 11 children, Mrs. David Steffy, Dale, Jean, John, and Earl Graham, Mrs. Charles Warner, Mrs. Boyd Bolin, Mrs. Lester Sherick and Mrs.

Samuel Barnett, all of here; Mrs. William Carman, Washington Boro, and Miss Tressa Graham at home; 28 grandchildren, one great grandchild; three William Graham, Baltimore; Emanuel and Jacob Graham, both of Wrights-ville RD; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Wallace, Long Level; Mrs. Hattie Roberts, Craley, and Mrs. Emma Ruby, near Long Level.

Funeral services vvill be conducted Thursday at 1 p. m'. at the late residence with further rites at 2:15 p. m. 'at the Springville church.

William Kopp will officiate. Interment will be in the Springville cemetery. Kraft Funeral home, Columbia, is in charge of arrangements. Awards Presented Four Jacobus Cubs Jacobus Four members of Cub Scout Pack 69 received awards at a recent meeting in the fire hall. Awards 'were presented as follows: Dennis Shearer, Wolf pin; Joe Keiser and John Wilkerson, Bear pins, and Larry Stine, a Lion pin.

Each den presented a skit. A Christmas party will be featured at the next meeting, Dec. 18, at the fire company hall. The meeting has- been scheduled a week early duetto Christmas day. the Immaculate Conception.

Rev. Gerrity has served were: Corpus Chris ti parish, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament church, Harrisburg, and St. Michael's church, Sunbury. Father Browne departed from local parish yesterday after serving eight years here. He has been assigned to Mercy Crest convent, Harrisburg, as chaplain.

Has Cast Removed Barry Keckler, son of Mrs. Betty Keckler, 201 East Main street, was conveyed to York hospital Saturday morning in the am-bulancee for removal of a cast. Keckler, a sophomore at Dallas-town Area High school, suffered a fracture of the right leg in a football game Oct. 5 at Littles-town. Dallastown Plant Supervisors1 Club To Convene Today Dallastown A colored film, "The Magic of Lumber," will be shown at a dinner meeting of Colonial Products company Supervisors' club this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the conference room.

Following a business session and management quiz-discussion, a lecture film, "Man's Basis of Accomplishment," will be shown. Eleven of the company's supervisors attended a conference of Eastern Pennsylvania Council of Industrial Management clubs recently at Lebanon. Representing the local club were William B. Hess, S.
