WAS nrrftionirl by the tender-hearted Mrs. Casey, for Qisturbin" the peace. It seems from the testimony that Mr. G. visited the ladv's premises-to collect a little indebtedness caused by a use on her part of the bovine material dispensed by the former.

Mrs. swore point blank that G. applied unbntcherlike epithets to her, and that, unaccustomed as she was to such compliments, she bestowed upon him in return, several affectionate remem brances; tnat Air. G. did, then and there, in violation of Bulwer's injunction, and contrary to the recognized principle of man's duty to woman, raise his brawny arm, and with dread intent, inflict upon her person a blow.

Think of it blow! For this she had him arrested for disturbing the peace! Per contra, Mri' Guptfi testified that he" visited her premises in a quiet and orderly manner, gave her his bill, and requested payment; that she tenderly threw the same into his face, and followed him to the front gate and out upon the sidewalk, all the time bestowing upon him a tirade 'of abuse, and ending the thing by punching him in the small of the back. He grew indignant, as most mortals would under the circumstances, and said Dammit." or something of the sort. This was an atrocious violation of the law, and His Honor, in consequence, reduced the bail of Mr. G. to $10, and ordered him to appear for sentence on Monday.

This raised the ire of Mr. G. and he then and there swore out a warrant for the arrest of Mrs. Casey, and intends to impeach her testimony. If anything rich; occurs at the trial, we'll give it to our readers.
