was dark and she was driving along on the trot when the horse ran into the wire fence recently put up around the base ball park Mrs Taylor was thrown out of the buggy and sustained several severe injuries and the horse was badly lacerated 011 the wire Mr Mackey had heard the screams of Mrs Taylor and ran out to her assistance He found it necessary to cut the wire to liberate the horse Last Sunday evening a crowd of young people went out buggy riding One buggy contained two couple Mr Sam Anderson and Miss Myrtle Hullum, Mr Bert Dunn and Miss Owens Near Noble one of the buggies in the company suffered a break down and the whole party was delayed in returning home When nearing Norman, Miss Hullnm said to the partv in the buggy in which she was riding would as soon get married as to go home this late Sam immediate rejoined then why not get married and go home with me Bert Dunn seeing the fun had started put in and said why not get married to-night you in- For sometime past we have been tend to in a short time The question greatly annoyed by a big rooster of our then arose as to who would perform neighbor Hugh Jones We ha threat ceremony Bert replied uwhy we en several times to demolish this old can awaken Judge Grigsby and have nuisance but always was afraid of ruf- tie the knot The parties then fling our neighbors feeling by killing agreed that this was just what Monday night at about 12 the newly married couple to the resi- clock we were aroused from a deep dence of Mr Anderson's father south slumber by what we at firstlhought was 0f town and ft them there returning thai old rooster thrashing the boards home to Norman The parents of either on the porch like he was scratching of the young couple were not aware of among nails in an empty barrel Our what had happened until the next mind was fully made up before we awoke morning To say that they were sur- tliat Hugh Jones might storm as he prised would be putting it mildly pleased, that old rooster would surely though they were both aware that the die When our feet struck the floor young couple had been keeping com- ARRIED In Kingfisher last Wednesday evening Mr Simon Turk and Sadie Wolff, Mr Turk is one of the proprietors of the Grand Leader clothing house of this city, and Miss Wolff is a highly accomplished and handsome young Lady of Kingfisher Last Tuesday afternoon a young couple from the Chickasaw Nation, came into Judge Grigsby's court to have the words pronounced by that Magistrate that would make them man and wife On their way over they met with a serious catastrophe in the treacherous sands of the South Canadian One of their horses was drowned and it was with the greatest difficulty they succeeded in getting themselves and the rig and other horse out Getting married in a buggy in the street in front of Judge Grisby's residence at about ten o'clock in the evening seems lo be quite a fad in Norman this week The precedent set by Mr Anderson and Miss Hullum last Sunday evening was follwed last Tuesday evening by Mr John Den ham and Miss Nannie Hart In each case the Judge was awakened from his slumbers and called out to the street to perform the rites of matrimony It does not occur to us that this is hardly the best way for young people to have the marital knot tied however, we have no disposition to criticise but would suggest to the young people with marital intentions to seriously think about the propriety of this method before adopting it too freely We fear that in after life it will net seem nearly so romantic to the young couple as it may have at the time of its consummation we were sufficiently awakened to dis- pany to gether for some time and that cover our mistake It was the Mando- they had marriage intentions They1 Last ednesday afternoon the
