Starting Times Below SUN MON TUES WED APRIL 29-30 MAY 1-2 Vermont Civil Defense officials met last Thursday evening at Civil Defense Headquarters in Montpelier to review final plans for Operation Bellwind the all-out civil defense exercise scheduled for May 24 While the ALERT and TAKE COVER signals will be disseminated throughout the state and ail civil defense forces will be mobilized concentrated and involved civil defense exercises will be conducted in the Bellows Falls Windsor and Chester areas The exercise which will test numerous civil defense services will be bused on three problems radioactive fall-out aircraft incidents and refugee feeding and shelter The hypothetical operation will Involve the particl evacuation of Bellows Falls three days after a simulated radioactive fall-out Approximately 1000 people will be evacuated to shelters in Windsor and Chester Transportation will be effectuated by buses and automobiles School children will be dismissed so that they may be evacuated with their parents Some businesses and industry will cooperate with officials and close down operation In Windsor the medical welfare I and refugee services will be tested After registration and cursory medical examination refugees will be distributed to homes throughout the area The refugees will be fed at Windsor under the I mass feeding plan Incidents will take place In Springfield and Ludlow requiring police fire and other services' assistance Radiological teams in charge of Dr Oscar Peterson Civil De-1 fense Radiological Consultant will cover the Bellows Falls area for i radioactive fallout The plans for the test exercise 1 were made by Deputy Director Walter Mazan Francis A Bolles district coordinator of Bellows Falls and Richard i Holmes coordinator of Windsor In charge of the meeting were State Civil Defense Director Wil-' ltam Baumann apd Deputy Director Walter Mazan The following were present at the meeting: John Pendergast FODA Regional Office Harvard Mass FRIDAY SATURDAY 7 and 9 AN UNRESTRAINED STORY OF AjI UNINHIBITED WOMAN!
