People have been asking that question almost since time began. For thousands of years, people have looked to religion for their answers. Dr. Nathan Schnaper, psychiatrist at the University of Maryland, said that although he doesn't believe in life after death, people who do are among the few who die with dignity.

"The only dignified deaths I've seen are the tired old people or cancer patients who feel this is enough or those who are truly religious and want to go home again back to the arms of Jesus," he said. BAHA1 Baha'is teach that there is a life after death, but not in the physical form as we know it, however. In short, human beings have no immortal soul. To get beyond this changing and temporary life, human beings go through a series of births and deaths.
