Police said the body of Angela L.

Belisle, 35, was discovered lying beside a car at 62 Brooks Ave. Her car keys were still in her hand when she was found. Authorities initially speculated she had fallen, hit her head and had a concussion. With no one to help her she eventually died of hypothermia, they thought. However, the state's chief medical examiner, Dr.

Eleanor McQuillen, said Saturday evening that preliminary autopsy revealed the woman had been shot in the head. Police discovered the woman's body around 11:15 a.m. Saturday after receiving a tip from a male caller. A spokesman for the Burlington Police Department said they had not found any signs of theft at the time. Police believe the murder happenned late Friday night.

Temperatures in Burlington dipped to 19 degrees below zero Saturday morning. Members of the Burlington Detective Squad are canvassing the neighborhood to find anyone with any information regarding the shooting. Around Vermont Kidnap Follows Break- Up BURLINGTON (UPI) A law enforcement student accused of assaulting and kidnapping his girlfriend's parents apparently was distraught over the woman's decision to end their relationship, police said. Lennie Bushey, 18, of Colchester pleaded innocent Friday in Vermont District Court to aggravated assault and kidnapping. He was held for lack of $10,000 bail.

On New Year's night, Bushey allegedly held Colchester School Board Chairman Robert Campbell and his wife Mary Jane at gunpoint for several hours, then forced them to drive to a home where he thought their daughter would be found. The Campbells were not seriously harmed. "The Lord was with us," Campbell said after the ordeal. Authorities said Bushey, a student at Champlain College, apparently was distraught that Holly Campbell, 19, broke up with him. Bushey borrowed a pistol and drove to the girl's Colchester home, according to police.

She was not there. Police said Bushey then herded the girl's parents into the kitchen at gunpoint. Another daughter, Robin, 21, escaped and called police. They surrounded the house but were afraid to rush in for fear Bushey would hurt the Campbells. At one point during the siege, Campbell tried to grab the weapon, but Bushey held on tight and fired three shots, authorities said.

All the bullets missed Campbell. Finally, Bushey allegedly forced the couple into their car, telling them to drive to a second home in search of their daughter. Colchester and Essex police stopped the car at a roadblock about four miles away from the Campbell house. Bushey surrendered peacefully.
