Naturally, loud blasts from automobile horns and rumbling of trains will create a tension in the sleeper. But recent tests have also proved that the slight noise made by tip-toeing past a bed will create muscle tension that can last as much as half an hour, although the sleepar awaken.

Since even slight noises taka their toll of the restful benefits of sleep, it is important to hava the most restful of bedding so that the most benefit can be obtained from hours spent in slumber. New Nylon Velvet Blends and Wears Pepper Tong You get the most nutritive value from green sweet peppers when you eat them raw. Cut them in fine strips and use them in salads, or dire them fine and use as a garnish for creamed eggs or potatoes. A new kind of velvet, with an all-nylon pile, has the qualities of softne.s.s, and luster which have given velvet texture its special appeal. In addition to these qualities, the new fabric has the advantages of nylon, such as long wear and easy cleaning. The nplon velvet is being presented as the covering for a charming 18th century style love a sofa, and the result is a harmon- 2 1 Otn ious blending of the old and the new.

While the sofa Is basically traditional and well suited for fabric of velvet elegance, it has a simplicity of lines, appropriate for living rooms of a nylon era. Dorothy DEAR MISS DIX: I am the divorced father of two girls, aged 4 and 9. I have been going with a wonderful girl nine years younger than 1 (I am 30) and we love each other very much.

I know her folks and they like me, too. I owe my father a considerable sum of money due to business and marital difficulties before my divorce, and have been working 12 hours a day, seven days a week for two and a half years to pay it back. Until this debt is discharged, I have much security to offer a wife. I have told this girl all my difficulties, and also pointed out that there are many younger men with better prospects who would be interested in her. However, she still insists she wants to marry me.

We could have my children for the summers. and the girl is happy at the prospect. Do you think our marriage would be successful? J.A.S. ANSWTERt Any girl, and especially a young one such as your girl friend, takes on a tough job when she acquires a ready-made family, especially if the first wife, and mother, is still around. To be.

successful at the job requires in-finite patience, sympathy, understanding and a deep love for dren. If your young lady has these gifts, and loves you enough to work along and do without things until your indebtedness is paid, say she was the one lor you.
