Qiiefs Lose 6-5 Despite Selinger Unearned Run Gives Bees Win Over Invading JAncoln Burlington, la. An unearned run in the 8 th inning gave Burlington a 6-5 Three-I League win over Lincoln before 1,000 fans Wednesday night. With the score knotted 5-5, pitcher Tom Sisk and veteran Bobby Sanchez walked. manager Ira inson then jerked starter A1 Brice and put in Jerry Moeller. Brice upset with strategy and kicked up such a fuss the umpires thumbed him off the field.

Chico Tellcria, the first batter to face Moeller, rolled one to A1 Bullock at second. Bullock fired to second base, but A1 Weis dropped the ball to load the sacks. Glen Merklen lofted a sacrifice fly to left to score Sisk with the winning run. City Junior Champion Charlie Borner is a 9 th grader. building strong prep teams, especially at Pius and Southeast. If anybody wants to hazard a guess, Pius and SE should dominate high school play the next two years. The club pros are the first to admit that these are the next Lincoln and Nebraska champs. Not only do the pros know it, but the seniors do too.

The present champions are plugging for the juniors. Of course, the champions going to step aside and let these boys move into their limelight. natural, nobody is just going to hand over something as big as a championship to anybody not even their sons without a fight. Sure, the juniors have a long way to go. They may get there faster, but still a long haul.
